Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Pat Connolly Resigns

Effective immediately and the Chairman of the Board, Todd Litzsinger will be the interim President and CEO. Pat was president since December 2017. Seems about the average tenure for a Follett CEO.

And her only job was to make the family's privately held stock worth more!
Did she fail?
Don't think the family will share that with the help!

AOH did drop a bundle on remodeling her RG office but hey, she IS family - she was spending her own money. She was there BEFORE she hired MSL.
MLS did drop a bundle on remodeling her office including power blinds.
Paranoid and overbearing with a fragile ego who thought the minions should remember their place?
Yes! That's what made her such a strong and effective leader?????

The RG office remodeled with the bathroom ripped and power blinds were all in AOH office. Everything had to be the perfect tone of white. MLS was not frivilous about spending. She drove a $40k SUV and the executive assistants spent way more effort and money on their image, look and style than she did. That was not her thing. Paranoid and overbearing with a fragile ego who thought the minions should remember their place? Yes that was she.

The Family didn't do due diligence when they hired him?

Who wants to be the president at Follett. The family dividend is sacred and can never be reduced. The family motto is "employees go first".

Lead what? A failing company? He got off the ship before it sunk.

MLS had her whole office remodeled, cost around 20K. They torn out her private bathroom and gave her all new stuff.
Big waste of money since we left not too long after and the building has been knocked down.
Funny how they never have money for their employees, but always for upper mgt.
Just like now, their pay cut 10 to 20%, employees working half what they use to, so some are cut 50%
Get out as fast as you can!

Family doesn't seem to want the top spot and absorb all the negative pub for the family's greed. MLS was the first in 11/2012 with a push from AOH. It's been outsiders from there on. MLS has made a career after leaving Follett being appointed to boards. Why are unmitigated losers like her rewarded over and over again??? When hard working associates were denied raises she had the company pay for power blinds for her RG office because it was too hard for her to get up and close the blinds. Think about that when you don't have PPE like masks, gloves and disinfectants for your store.
UNREAL!

The continual turnover at the top is why no company-wide attempts at improvement never take off.

My money is on BF getting the promotion, since she’s family it would put some sorely needed stability at the top, as opposed to the rent-an-exec strategy of the last several years.

Can’t compare CEO’s to gf or bf’s. However, very short tenure for follett CEO’s, what’s up with that? How many forced out? This one see a sinking ship & bailed before the seas got really rough?

You can only lead if the family lets you.
Perhaps he was trying to do the right thing and the family's greed became the business driver.
We'll never know unless PC writes a book.

I don’t mean to sound like I hope he was fired, but cutting and running at a time like this when you are supposed to lead...what a failure of character.

Starting feel like the end of the monarchies in Europe 100 years ago. At some point institutions grow and change or they fail. TL represents a generation that has not performed well. Not much change. No growth.
Let's all tip a glass to honor the past and bring in the afternoon!
