Starting April 13th, US employees all to take off. How? How the hell does that work? And is the government going to pay 50k HON employees on furlough?

I received my RIF notice in January so I get 26 weeks full pay. Hoping to also get extended unemployment benefits past 26 weeks now (govt can raise Honeywell's unemployment tax). Best of all, avoided getting COVID-19 in my hot cube and sold my HON stock in January when I got the RIF notice. Reading the furlough posts brings back bad memories.
Looks like each SBG is doing things differently... Corp IT isn’t doing green / white but rather everyone 2 weeks straight in mid April. E band is working continuously but taking pay cut. India is exempt and not affected (keeping lights on).
Government’s new plan announced that those on furlough will get paid by them. Not sure if there are certain circumstances.
Looks like different sets of time off for different locales or subgroups? We have Mar 30 and Apr 27 for one team, Apr 6 and May 4 for the other team.
I understand not doing it all at once so we’re not without an entire paycheck, but this means everyone gets spotty coverage for 6 weeks.
that's not how it's working. at least not in PMT org. every person who the furlough applies to is assigned to a green team or a white team. April 6 week - one team will work and the other team is on furlough. April 13 - the other team will work and the team that worked the week before will be on furlough. May 4 & May 11 - same schedule. I have not heard which team is working which week but that's because my particular organization is horrible at communicating.
Why would the government pay anyone on futlough?
