Thread regarding Denbury Resources Inc. layoffs

Predictions on when layoffs occur?

At this oil price I think we all know they’re coming.... Just a matter of when. My thoughts are in about a month.

Those are just the shares sold to satisfy the taxes on their performance share award vesting....happens every year.

You mean our office and all the other vacant buildings we lease too? Wasteful spending.

About the only way they could meaningly reduce G&A is get out of that over priced over sized building and get in a normal run of the mill office building.

It’s more than just layoffs. The financial noose is taking hold. As expected.

Do we really have too many layers, or just bad/inexperienced know it alls that don’t trust their people, and so they focus their time and attention on critiquing and criticizing rather than building and leading.

Many people believe from field to CK, there is
still way too many levels of management for a company of Denbury’s current size.

Don't have many levels anymore. No directors, no COO, a couple departments with managers reporting to managers but most managers are still doing technical work when they arent in meetings, right?

How many layers of management does Denbury really need to function?

It seems inevitable, but CK has been a man of his word so far. I will take his word that we will make it through the turbulence without a layoff. We were pretty fortunate to make it that long before the VSP to be quite honest.

I think Chapter 11 would be the better move at this point. Layoffs will only delay the inevitable. It is better to conserve some of the company that is left for those trying to run it later than burning more of the resources now just to keep the doors open a few days longer.
