Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Future of Encompass

While Allstate and Encompass resources are being combined for the independent agent market, what does that mean and what will the business model look like?

#1 I don’t “hang out” here. Just checked in for the first time in a week. Glad I did. Amusing.
#2 I’m far from bored. Too busy golfing, going to the beach, and spending time on my boat.
#3 No one currently working “supports my benefits “. My 35 years of hard work did that.
If you’re miserable, leave.

You don’t support anything but the fat cat’s bonuses. Retirees earned everything they have.

  • 8 tells me what kind of manager your were and you clearly are bored in retirement to hang out here. I won’t and plz don’t complain just thank us for supporting your benefits. Don’t go away mad just go away why are you here?

Yes, I’m sure they apologize for their estimates. As you repair the car for that amount.

Very true. I work at a body shop now a every adjuster I talk to are apologetic for the estimates that the company is forcing them to write.

The real “sacrifice “ most bonus level employees make is their own morals when they chose to follow in lock step in pursuit of the bottom line at the cost of paying the customer what is owed. Enjoy your ill gotten gains.

Seems we have got away from the point of the initial inquiry. However, it appears we have some very unhappy and angry people on a web page for the terminated or soon to be terminated. Not to mention the company apologists who for some reason are here to justify their existence or importance.

Another frustrated guy who didn’t have the brains or expend the effort to grab the brass ring. I’m enjoying the dream, but it’s my real life after a long, fulfilling career.

I have reflected on it. It’s painfully obvious that the biggest kiss asses rise to bonus level while the real talent keep the company afloat on a daily basis. You go on and enjoy your dream world.

Really ? How many times did you re-locate your family ? How many Sunday and Friday nights were you on flights ? How may 7 pm conference calls were you on ?
“Kiss a–” and “s— up” comments are common deflections for lazy, mediocre employees that lack ambition and drive. Talent rises to the top. There are rare exceptions, but by and large talent wins out.
Reflect on that.

After more than 30 years with the company I can tell you “sacrifice “ has nothing to do with reaching bonus level. Being the best yes man and kiss a– in the room is the key. The real producers are in the field and on the floor so don’t be too proud of yourself.

No, it’s not “how I spend my time”. I look at it for two minutes every couple of days. I’m too busy spending my retirement dollars. And yes, some came from well earned bonus’s. I worked hard to reach a bonus eligible position, and only in a socialist world would you “take away my bonus to pay for everyone else’s healthcare”, possibly for employees that weren’t willing to make the sacrifices and put in the hours I did in my career.
Enjoy your retirement comrade. I’m expecting you’ll share your 401k and/or pension with the working class.

That’s how u spend your retirement time? I’ve got 60 days left and won’t ever look at this board again how sad.

I will say it been great resource after years of working for a company that espouses transparency and had none with regard to its employees. It’s really gone downhill esp in lady five years and greedy leaders whose bonuses alone could pay for health care are the problem not the hard working peers I spent my career with.

Why wouldn’t it be? It’s not like the company tells us anything.

Agree. This would not be my source for business strategy and model questions.

None of the above. Happily retired, and I monitor this site for recreation.

To the first responder, you do realize that by responding you’ve put yourself in that group of disgruntled or laid off employees . So, which is it? Disgruntled or laid off? Or maybe you were fired?

It would seem there are better sources to get the answer to that question. You’re on a site for disgruntled/laid off employees. They’d be the last to have accurate information.
