CXO and SVP Reorg

CXOs, like CTO, CIO etc must be sending reorg letters already. You probably received yours last Friday (it is always Friday, so it avoids the unecessary next day group meeting).
Here is the curriculum they are following (classic American way of dealing with employees during layoff pre-season):

Step 1: confirm the position of those who will be in the winning/surviving team.
Step 2: Add layers between problematic spots (aka add a SVP between the CXO and VP) and direct the new layer to shield the CXO from noises down under.
Step 3: Shuffle the areas of ownerships. Throw a key word to justify why one area now goes to another team (eg 'new billing system', 'consolidate infrastructures', 'IoT')
Step 4: Eliminate duplicates by offering volunteering termination (either really voluntary or by demotion, by moving someone's position to a group/project/office he/she/them don't want to go/do/be)
Step 5: For those few remaining fighting the system, perform layoffs.
