Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Aero Cyber Security Chief Eng is gone

Any scoop? She’s now Chief Eng at Boeing. She was the only woman Chief in Aero, outside hire.

As a 40+ years woman engineer in Aero, I’m curious. Between all the age discrimination of the 1990s, and silliness like the hubs, and the offshoring of jobs, they still claim they only have a pipeline problem.

No one at any level trusts Honeywell right now. Many managers have been forced to carry out things they know are wrong. In some cases illegal. Of course she didn't give a notice!! All they would have done is walk her out. Work a notice? Nope hit the road. Good for her... I hope she can help get me a job.

It's not just a pipeline problem. It's a culture problem. When your company leadership doesn't trust you to make good decisions (which is why they allegedly hired you), when they don't listen to your recommendations, when they require continual PowerPoints and rework, when they don't treat you as a professional adult in your field of expertise, and when they simply don't trust you (to manage and properly evaluate and reward your team, to work from home if needed, to backup your computer, to how you use emails and IMs), I think those actions tell you everything you already know.

Boeing is actively developing their own avionics AND APUs to get HON off their platforms once and for all. The best part is, once this is done, Boeing will market their products to other OEMs as a HON retrofit program. The ATR market for avionics and APUs is about to go to almost zero. HON footprint on Airbus in terms of avionics is very low, although we are on a fair amount of Airbus aircraft for APUs.

Apparently putting revenue and leadership bonuses ahead of customers DOES in fact have consequences. Who knew?!

They only need the image of supporting (pick a group). I’m not suggesting she was just a token, but they get enough wokeness image out of the women’s groups, tokens, and future shaper social media activists.

Sounds like a promotion to me. Also sounds like she gave no notice and boeing didnt care.
Bottom line. Don't expect to sell your new avionics to boeing.... or maybe they already figured that out and that's why that other chief a$$ in charge RR got walked out.
