this is a fact. trust me...allstate recently did some very shady business to many employees. november they asked 4 documentation of dependents..any dependent who's paperwork was not submitted would be dropped from health insurance...many employees who intended to drop certain dependents did not provide documentation cuz they did not intend coverage 4 this family member...those employees received letters stating that dependent was dropped....hence, employees thought they had done what was asked....on February 28th, approximately 500 employees were terminated without knowledge....they either went to work..or saw an extra weeks pay (allstate in january held one week of pay 4 all employees) and called hr and were told they were terminated 4 non compliance regarding dependent verification...per allstate a follow up email was sent in january stating documentation required for all dependents if not received they would be terminated effective Feb 28...per he, this was in fine print.....employees due to a financial crisis began withdrawing their 401k and retirement....those employees who waited until the following monday were told they could not draw their retirement because they were still an active employee. then Allstate sent a certified letter stating they had extended deadline...once employee provided required documents they could return to work retroactively to Feb 28th..now they will not tell the employees if they will be guaranteed the same position or if they will be paid for this forced time off....shame on u Allstate but as a former employee I expect nothing less
