Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Everyone’s happy?

I have left XRX a year ago but still check this site once in a while. I noticed that most of the posts are now related to ex-GIS/XBS and that we don’t hear much from folks in Norwalk or Webster. Does this mean that things are improving for you guys? Feeling the powerhouse vibe? Hope things are getting better for everyone

Laid off in May from Webster. Life and new job are fantastic. In a position to reject certain applicants who contributed to the toxic environment at Xerox, and to hire the good ones. Sharing the story of certain people widely within my company and in the local community.

I also left a year ago after 27 yrs. It was a toxic environment, couldn't take it anymore. Everyone has a reason to stay or leave. Wish the ones I left behind good luck. Lovin life now.

I don’t think Xerox will pay my bills 10 years from now, and I’m prepared if they stop paying my bills in a few months. I’m planning on exiting on my own timetable within a year, maybe two, but if that is accelerated beyond my control, fine. It’s not a strong company right now, it’s not getting stronger (imo), but if you manage expectations it’s not the worst place to be.

Some folks on this site - I think you need beta blockers. You shouldn’t be happy that the company s—s and your coworkers and buddies might get laid off - but most of us have absolutely no ability to affect that. Don’t wrap your identity up in your job so much you need to complain about it constantly and treat it like a personal affront. For better or worse, it’s just business.

Don’t ever love a company, because a company will never love you back.

There seem to be a lot of folks in webster that live in fairy land.

Hi, also left a year ago (based in Europe). Most of my contacts are now ex-Xerox so not much info here. But I am enjoying life post-Xerox.

Webster here - no real issues here. There is always the concern on the horizon for what is next, how long will my job be safe for, what impact will HP have on us. But I've thought that for decades, and here I am. I'm old enough that if something bad happened I'd be fine, I have no desire to search for a new job.

I wouldn't say things are improving, they really haven't changed much in the last couple years one way or another for my organization.
