Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Blessing in Disguise

Had 9 years in at a small point. They said on Friday that me and the only other man were safe and then on the next Monday, after working Like Hell on FRA B/O just so my senior general foreman‘s Dwell count wouldn’t put “him” on the radar, he comes in and cuts me off and has the nerve to tell me he knew nothing about it. But my ex coworker said that is soon as the door hit me in my a–, The senior general foreman said that there is a plan and everything will be taken care of with just one man. Just heard they are trying to cut him off too. It’s funny how they always say they had nothing to do with the Decision

Well you know all those engines that they are storing.
NS has them on the market for sale.
$68,000 each that's what are senior general told us today they have over a thousand up for grabs.
This was brought up in last weeks town hall meeting that the management went to.
On another note we asked what else did the meeting have to say ?
His reply the company is doing good real good.
Another question we had asked him how are we going to get the operating ration don to 60 percent ?
His reply was it will take over 100 million dollars just to drop just 1 basis point.
Well it's not over yet you guys theres more chopping ahead.

But anyway, there is life after NS... insurance and retirement might not be what they offer, but I found a job that is soooo much better. Don’t let them have that much power over you men.
