Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

I was thinking about applying to this location but came across this - https://www.indeed.com/cmp/Honeywell/reviews?id=becc1f172380a175

Would like to know what I'm getting myself into:

A Horrid Place with Extreme Nepotism
It doesn't matter how good you are at your job or how hard you work or help others, if you're not a favorite, you go unseen, unheard and misrepresented in the worst possible ways. Unfortunately, it appears that managers who have "special relationships" with certain employees promote, encourage and place them on pedestals, regardless of how little work they do, or how much time they waste holding "garden parties" and being "socialites". It's a darn dirty shame because there are some good, hard working people there who care about their jobs, and fellow employees, but they get treated like dirt. Shame, shame, shame on you Urbana.

Pretty much a smoke screen. Leadership just presented. "We have an attrition problem"... Followed by basically, "but we shouldn't, raises will be at inflation (if not deferred) and we prefer to hire college students.
Hey,check out how many new hires from 4-5 yrs ago are at the company. How long do they stay? In long program tech (20yr service life or more) you gotta keep knowledge and recognize people with sincerity. That pres was a bunch of bs, guy. "Act like you own the place"? Incompetent decisions are what got us here.

Yes, very true. 15+ years and still a senior engineer. Still here because I can't relocate.

When you interview at a company, ask them about benefits.
Do they have a Travel Policy for Overseas flights. HON does. They say the do. The actual policy is you CANNOT fly business class. Coach everywhere around the globe. I have friends who work for much smaller firms and they even fly business class from USA to UK. You know why? They value their employees and want them comfortable and happy.

What about Work from Home Policy. Ask if HON has one, they will say yes. But the actual Work From Home Policy says, You CANNOT work from home, unless it is after or before you spent the majority of your day in the office. E.G take an India call in the Morning, drive to work, WORK all day, then go home and take a China call at night before going to bed.

I'm just waiting for my severance package, and then my next company will be where they value employees. 5 years into this place, and time to move on!!

It is better to be unemployed than to work for honeywell. Never accept a job here.

Yepo same over at PMT (UOP) we have manager and people under him don't do wrong. All the stuff they do wrong is swept under rug with by their manager, well by all them just unreal. But if someone other than under him says one word supposedly, your brought to HR so bias.

I would only recommend working at honeywell if you like being told to work extra hours for free every week and being treated as if you are some kind of over entitled jerk if you ask to be treated fairly and with respect.

Used to be a good place to work. But this is a global corporation that is now run by extremely greedy execs. Expect to be seen and treated as an expendable piece of machinery. If they could make even a nickel off something that would ruin your life, they will take the nickel. I would move right on.

The person singled out one location. I find it true at all locations - very accurate. I have worked at or closely with 6 different Aero sites. The work you do makes no difference to managers. That's because managers typically of a finance mentality, love charts and numbers - yes men who don't know what you do. All they know how to do is push the workers and avoid work themselves. They are afraid to promote hard working experienced knowledgeable workers as it may make them selves look less so.

Very accurate representation of Honeywell, but there is more. Overall it's a horrible corporation.
