Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

401K Match or Terminate

An email was circulated to managers in HBT sometime before Dec 15 to remind them that if they are looking to terminate anyone they should do it before the match date cut off.
1) This validates what we all assumed.
2) Who was the knucklehead that actually put that in writing?
What does that say about my manager for sharing this piece of information with the direct reports?

I find it cute @yjl believes those corporate communications. All those town halls and communications would not be required if their actions aligned. Don’t get me wrong... I don’t blame them. They are just keeping the walls up while they tear down the roof. It is hard to dismantle a business and cart off the cash. That’s the job though.
Next week they will have a new business to run with all new s—ers.

Layoffs in NC just before Thanksgiving, same deal - no match. Glad to be gone rather than be working for a company that thinks like that.

In Corporate IT they had a RIF in October and November in support of the hub strategy. If people were not in the hub they were laid off. About half for sure were USA people and were exited before the December 15th 401k match deadline.

Plan is 100% in hubs in 2020. Other Corporate functions will be doing the same just on different schedules

SBGs will be requiring their employees be at their SBGs sites. No more transfers between SBGs without you moving offices

not true . They do not care. I was terminated Nov 4 just on the word of one guy in Clearwater who was just a temporary manager of the Glendale group I was in. HR never consulted with people (project managers, and co-workers) who knew me. They violated the code-of-conduct of employee respect by doing that and hi-jacking me off a project without consulting the project lead.

One good apple in Aero does not mean the barrel isn’t rotten in HBT.

Can’t say the claim is false.

This is false, I repeatedly heard HR tell managers to explain to their direct reports that if they were going to retire or resign to make sure they knew the cutoff date for their match, and that if they were going to be letting anyone go to take that date into consideration.

Honestly I was surprised because it was one of the few times I heard VP and Director level HR people sound like they really cared about the employees- at least in Aero.
