No only a person that needs to pay the bills and have health insurance would reapply for a job at DXC. I would too, but would keep looking for something else and if found I would give my notice in Thursday and be gone on that Friday

Only a fool would reapply to the company who laid them off.

I knew someone years ago that got retrenched and paid out from CSC and reapplied for a job with CSC about 14 months later. He got the job and then got retrenched again after about 3 years. After that he joined the Police force!

So the short answer is yes but I have to ask why would you even consider working for DXC ever again?
I don't even know you but I do know you can do much better for you and your family.

I would suggest not reapplying. Typically, if you are rehired, it is at a lower salary than previously. Also, regardless of the new role description, you will likely be called upon to pick up much of what you were doing previously at the lower salary. Also, you will be seen as what is called 'friendly expendable'. Meaning, while you are not highly valued as an employee, they see you as someone that will take a layoff and still come back for more. You have a much greater likelihood of being let go again. Also, you are not going to be seen as someone that needs to be promoted/rewarded to encourage you to stay. Instead, you are considered a fixture, not an asset.

Why in the world would you? Celebrate your freedom, don't look for a way back into this hellhole.
