Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

All these moves?

All the moves, all the site closures, loss of Boeing as a customer. Historic backlog and we are shedding engineering talent. This means one thing. Honeywell is preparing to sell Aerospace. There is no way the business can continue with the type of leadership exhibited in last 3-5 years.

Boeing is still a customer. However they are developing their own Apu. In due time Honeywell APUs will be removed from the marketplace and replace with Boeing's. This will take some time. So in the meantime will be the same old management c-ap. Beat you harder and get rid of the old timers to hire cheaper labor. This doesn't work.See G.E. for that strategy.

Aerospace is not for sale. However, it could be Spun Off as a unique company or Spun and merged with another company (think GE or UTX).

Boeing is still a customer – you need to check your facts.

Sale of Aero rumors have been common for the last 20 years. To much profit in it to sell it

who would buy it! The investment in needed to restore the companies Technical and Brand leadership would take many year and more money they any sane company would invest. At this point all that is left of the company is to keep providing support for legacy products until they are eventually reitred. It should provide a sure and steady (while declining) income for the near future. But that is about it, no new gangbuster growth, or major airframes awards. So with that outlook, the constant ratcheting down of staff (layoffs) will continue until there is nothing left.

Kind of reminds me a once swanky hotel that used command premium rates, and had people lining up to stay there. But through lack of maintenance and neglect it slowly trans forms into a skid-row crack-den and by the hour flop house. But Hey the the profit is still pretty good!
