Behind the deal: New York, Texas offered more money - but Xerox picked NC anyway

I have it from a reliable source that recruiters were asked to propose cost models for hiring those numbers of IT and Finance personnel in Raleigh. Maybe they are bringing it back onshore?
I don't know where the source of the 250 finance people located in NC is coming from. World Wide Accounting Services (WWAS) Accounting area went through a massive layoff in May and another one in July this year. The finance employees of WWAS were hit before accounting. There aren't that many U.S. employees left as it was all offshored to Manila. Previous offshoring went to Guatemala. I doubt they would fire all the Manila and Guatemala people that were hired previously and this summer to add back the U.S. accountants/finance staff. Particularly when the Manila and Guatemala staff salary is a quarter of what the U.S. staff was making.
The only known org movements to N.C. are Finance and XDX (XIM). This will become o virus in October. Gil Hatch could move somewhere but it is unknown if that would be NYC, Raleigh, etc
Is Gil Hatch Center moving to NC?
I would be very leery of moving for a job with Xerox. You could find yourself unemployed after 18 months. If you did, is Raleigh where you would want to be? If your spouse works, would you be better off on one income where he or she is now or where they would be in NC? What if you needed to move again to get a new job? Would you & your family be okay moving again so soon? If so, then go for it. If not, you might be better off finding a job with a different company.
Honest assessment.. if you’re going to get paid to leave NY and move do it. Yes, it’s hot but the people are wonderful. The only opportunity that would have been better was Texas.
XIM moving, most people are not. Webster staff will be relo'd to Raleigh (small number) or looking for new work. Everything staffed in RTO and India.
The whole point of this seems to be replacing with better talent. How does X expect to draw that talent in an area of who's who of tech cos I dont know.
BO is the most vocal against Webster. He has wanted to get rid of everyone in Webster/Rochester since he joined

Not just XIM—they are planning for 250 finance personnel also.
The new C-suite has tried to sell the campus and get out of Webster since day 1. Problem is that nobody wants land that has been contaminated for years and it is costly to lay off employees. Otherwise, they would have closed the place a year and a half ago. Instead the sloooowwww death will continue.
They are moving xim out of Webster. Nobody else.
