I just got RIFD About 10 minutes ago. All of the work I do is restricted access only. But I work for foreign nationals. Is it me or is there something wrong with this? I’d like to report this to somebody. Do you think the state department would be interested

Olathe wasn't the only site hit this week. Personnel from other areas were also RIF'd. This was a top down action to hit the year end numbers after top line guidance was reduced by Corporate in the last earnings release. They still have to hit their bottom line number. Others also were restricted access. Eventually, Honeywell will screw up, and someone in a foreign country will have access, and the company will be busted. Until then, work your exit strategy. Feel for those impacted this week. There is life after Honeyhell.
I am waiting for it to come to Glendale Az, to get the package. Just so I no longer feel I have a foreign boss (i.e PR). About ready to retire to bridge me to medicare.
Redmond and Phoenix, you're next, whether you like it, or not.
I have now heard about what final destruction has been delivered to Olathe Aero. I find it disturbing that so many people who have so loyally followed the trail from King Radio to Bendix King, to Allied Signal, to Honeywell, who loyally did their duty, and unfortunately HAD to do "bad things" for the profits of the undeserving chicken-hawks who couldn't even turn a screw. Their final reward is to be thrown to the curb so Darius and the board can squeeze more juice out of the turnip. To be replaced by temps, out-sourcers, off-shorers, and weasels, it has got to be one of the saddest examples of greed in the history of corporate America. Capitalism at its worst.
But even more disturbing, its only ONE site of the Honeywell many, who has been delivered the blow.
Who, with any common sense, would now want to work for the company?
Is this all about the Hub initiative?
It's not that Honeywell uppers don't know if employees are good, they just don't care. They only care about profits, stock price, and executive bonuses. They'd ruin anybody's lives if you are an AMERICAN, because they'd rather pay cheap foreigners. Narcisitic greedy unpatriotic cretins.
I am really sorry for you guys that got hit. Yeah, it's easy say that you'll probably end at a better place, but the stress and pain you are going through right now really s—s! Take a few days to get yourself together, and remember, Honeywell routinely beats down their employees, mostly for no good reasons. You are better than you think you are. Best of luck!
"Olathe handles the General Aviation market which isn't very lucrative for Honeywell...low volume products. " how wrong you are. 20 years ago you could say that but now its about 10% GA and 80% ATR and maybe 10% Defense and Space. Flight Safety is the main core of its business, TCAS, Transponder and Weather Radar make up the bulk of the profit. The factory is definitely low cost, zero to 5 % put in and 50% taken out. This is rapidly changing as they consolidate the Wichita and Renton repair and maintenance facilities into the site. Very Soon it will be all R&O with production as an after thought.
Olathe handles the General Aviation market which isn't very lucrative for Honeywell...low volume products. That doesn't mean there aren't really great people. Sorry to hear.
We lost close to 50 design engineers in Olathe today.
Hard to believe anyone left in Olathe
Did Olathe Aero get hit again? Any news on what groups were affected? Last I heard there wasn't very many AMERICAN engineers left. There was mostly manufacturing support groups and maybe 2 product development groups they attempted to send to India a few times but failed miserably. I'd say it's safe to say nearly any Americans left were very good employees. Of course they were forced to train "foreign resources" to take their jobs along the way. What a sad sorry place it is these days.
Oh I am at a data center in Delaware. Unfortunately I wasn’t part of a hub but then again neither is the senior vice president somehow it’s OK for him
Honeywell political action committee just pays the DOJ off to look the other way
Heard there is a big RIF taking place in Olathe, lots of good engineers let go.
