I understand what you’re saying, and not to sound negative but I know too many people who are tired of the constant nights and weekends, and would love to get to leave early on Saturday and Sunday, or even at 9pm on weeknights. Let me ask you why exactly does the pharmacy close early every day of the week? We ask the FS to stay open late for their sales numbers or to “be there for our customers”, and yet we don’t ask the same of the Pharmacy. A complete and total double standard anyway you look at it. We tell the RX you can have off on holidays and be with your families and the FS? Sorry you’re open!
How do you answer a customer who’s yelling at you because it’s 6:30pm on a Saturday night and the pharmacy is closed, and the whole reason the customer is there, is because they got the robo call saying their pr-scrip-ion is ready for pickup. We deal with a lot of hell from customers who are constantly complaining that our pharmacy closes too early on weekends. It would be really nice to not have to deal with that anymore because we both close at the same time.
You talk about “sales numbers” but neglect to understand the human aspect behind that. Because if the store is open late than someone has to be there. Now yes employees want and need their jobs, but it’d be nice to get a break once in a while. The front store matters too. I know the RX is under just as much pressure as the front store, and things in the rx aren’t any better than the front. But, regardless of that, we are all on the same team, and should be treated as such.
