Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oracle is doomed

Customers are trying to get off of the Oracle DB, which is really all that Oracle has. The rest of Oracle's stuff is c-ap. Lots of purchased applications bolted on in various ways, sabotaged on the inside by in-fighting and sabotaged by the upper management with cost cuts at the wrong time.

Even the DB area is going downhill, good people have left and people from other areas of the company are moving in, to try to save themselves. They will only sabotage what is left.

Oracle's time has come and gone. It's hard to accept, but it is the truth. Unless you are very, very close to retirement, you really need to move on. As hard as it is to get another job in your forties, it's a hundred times more difficult over 50. Move on as soon as you can.

" The competition should be across the street, not across the hall".

Exactly my thoughts when I was working at Oracle. Dirty tricks, manipulation, lies, cheating, stealing other people's ideas.... the list goes on and on. How can a company survive when the people inside it are attacking each other?

Unbelievable sh—show. Find a way out, I did. It's just not worth it, there are other companies to work at.

From a sales rep perspective, 6 years at Oracle has seen some pretty lousy treatment. Clawbacks, SPIFS not paid because the "rules" change in mid-season, accounts "stolen" by other groups and on. When I try to tell my wife about some of these stories she shakes her head and says " The competition should be across the street, not across the hall".....agreed!! Way too many cooks in the kitchen. Let's bring in some more "Class Of". That should help

Products are pulled in and out of suites. Some even moved from the cloud back to on premise. Pricing modules change like a roulette wheel. How can we stay ahead, and drive sales, when we change direction all the time?

Oracle is a big company so it can limp for a long time. But yes it's going downhill.

I think LE is tired of it and plans to wind it down until somebody else buys it. SC is just playing along with LE's desires, after all she has stated in the past that she won't continue as CEO once LE retires.
