Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

How many jobs are we expected to do?

People keep leaving and we keep getting stuck with having to do their work on top of ours because DXC is refusing to hire replacements. So we get more work for the same pay. We are already severely overworked - what needs to happen for them to actually decide to bring in a replacement or two for those who left?

Only a fool would work long hours for this company. The senior exec's have shown long ago they will use you to line their pockets, and then toss you away like garbage. If you let it happen, you have no right to complain.

Try this: Refuse to do the work of more than one person. The more hours you work, the more your pay per hour goes down. You are justifying them laying off people because you take on their work. Stop doing that. It's not like you'll be put on a WFR list or anything. You're on it anyway, its just a matter of time.

Each time a valued colleague is exited, management should action business process transformation/re-engineering to change the way the business operates to take account of the role that they say is no longer needed.

Unfortunately over past 5 years I have seen hundreds exist but not once have I seen managers undertake PB change.

People take on more and quality droops. And our customers see this very clearly.

They will abuse you to the extent you let them abuse you. Fools take on extra work which justifies getting rid of people.

Work a little less each year to account for being paid less in real terms. Roughly 2% less for example. Personally I only stay late if I'm working on something interesting by which time the office is like a ghost town. Let them get what they pay for which is very demotivated workforce.

How many jobs are we expected to do? Precisely one, our own.

Work the hours to which you are contracted and work a LITTLE extra if you want. Do NOT be tempted to work crazy hours in a futile attempt to cover for others who have left.

@116JiX3t-bbq Don't work a 100 hours a week. Full time means 40 hours a week. I won't work over 50 hours a week, since I haven't had a raise since 2013.

Yep. Doing the under reporting of hours here in the states as well. Why even do catw. They should just prepopulate it with what ever earnings shaping numbers they want.

What about putting in 100 hours a week and not being able to bill more than 40 to clients? Not just unethical but probably illegal as well.

Agree @116JiX3t-qha - if you're doing this see a doctor and go on stress leave. It's not worth risking your health and relationships over a company like this. If possible de'stress and find another job but in meantime would to just your contracted hours and what's written down in your employment contract.

In anyway if you do stay with DCX likely that you be WFR (matter of time) / your clients will get ^^&^&^& off and terminate the DXC contract, your department will be merged and spin off to oblivion, DXC is on borrowed time.

If you can't take the heat then go on stress leave. Better still apply for promotion to L2 or L3.
