Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Honeywell Anniston

To Anniston employees looking here:
Based on our recent town hall, it looks like we still have a fighting chance. A decision on Anniston hasn't been made yet, so the ball is on our court. What are we going to do? Let's quit whining about leadership at the end of the day we move the units. Am I giving 100%? Are you giving a 100%? Brian is right we have lost our Mojo, our swagger, our pride in the work that we do each day. As I walk around the shop I see a lot of things going on not related to moving units, not saying we can't have fun at work but we need re-focus on delivering units to our customers. At the end of the day shipments is what will make us or break us. 100 units a day isn't going to do it. We need 150! Are we staffed for that? I know we have some limitations but we have the employees that can flex around and we can make it happen. So let us pull together as one team and let us make the decision on Anniston future easy. Who is with me?

Leadership? You keep using that word...

And criticizing management is par for the course. Anonymously posting propaganda doesn't exactly scream courage to me. Honeywell is in a downward spiral and has been for years. Blaming the employees seems counterproductive as they are generally a reflection of the (lack of) management.

When the main qualification for a promotion to supervisor or manager is how well you can say 'yes sir' this environment is to be expected. Subservient lackeys might make it easier for the higher ups but you lose what little respect you have with the employees on the floor. Here's an idea... try to lead by example through your actions and start by empowering your employees not belittling them.

Lack of integrity for management here has always been a problem that is not going away by pointing fingers at the floor.

If Tempe doesn’t want extra or even the work they have. We will take it here in Anniston. Just give us some extra headcount. We ship 700+ units a week with probably less headcount and our wages are lower. Please send us some more work and the headcount to do it, we want it!

Being more productive and boosting shipments at Anniston might give you a fighting chance. They may want to move it to Tempe but easier said than done. They want 500 units a week now from Tempe R&O, it's not happening. Getting to 400 was a huge struggle. In that mix are outlines formerly designated to Anniston. It seems to me they are slowly moving work from the Anniston site to Tempe or Anniston can't keep up so they are leaning on Tempe to help. Either way, a lot of Tempe R&O employees are sick and tired of this place. We are in no position currently to take on Anniston's workload. The training s—s, we don't have the tools and equipment we often need, and quite frankly we are not motivated or interested in the additional work. Week after week of constant ball busting to move units and work overtime wears on people. They have a huge mountain to climb if they think Tempe can take on double the workload successfully.

There is nothing at a town hall that can be shared until customers are notified. Wichita turned a lot of units but that rooftop is closing.

Hopefully anniston makes the cut.

Honeywell selling dreams as usually :)))))
tell me future shaper, do you believe that you have the decision in your hands or your leaders are just making sure they will squeeze you until the last minute then take your badge. Look for something outside, your destiny with HON has been decided long ago without, of course, asking your opinion.
