They cut the Carmen off in Asheville,now the conductors are required to preform brake tests and inspections on all trains leaving Asheville.I kind of understand the 10 conductors that got furloughed here,they never should have been hired to begin with,didn't need them,but it's just wrong to do away with one crafts job and give it to another,I guess next we,LL be fueling our own engines
The union is a complete joke and only exists to have their palms greased. My suggestion to anyone considering a career with railroad, think again.
I hate it for those families! Just remember, you can't get furloughed if your out hurt! Fake it till ya make it!
At Williamson, we had 20 carman, 4 electricians, 4 laborers. They only kept 4 carman, 2 electricians and only 1 laborer
The Union will protect them
Where was all the cuts made at and how many people where laid off. Prayers for the family
