Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

They don’t want to layoff because the job market is pretty good

They’ve somewhat learned that when the market is good, people generally give Boeing the finger when recalls happen. That’s why layoffs have been up in the air.
If there was an abundance of ‘skilled’ people they could hire, and the job market wasn’t as good, I think we would had already seen the layoffs start.
I would not put too much stock into what the media says until they say: Boeing announces layoffs, followed up by something from the union after the fact.
Until then, just keep plugging away, work some overtime, if available, and don’t make any large purchases.

Really good post from @10PauvtW-2vgh. I thought it needed to be in its own thread so more people could see it. I hope the OP doesn't mind.

yeah but the unemployment numbers are fixed. Q1-Q6. they don't count people who have been out of a job for more then six months, and everyone receiving socialist benefits are also counted as employed, ie wic section 8 ect.

Good points but I don’t think the market is as good as they portray unless you are a software coder or engineer. Obviously unemployment numbers are very low but reality is seen all over. Less benefits and overall compensation. Any thoughts on that?
