They’ve somewhat learned that when the market is good, people generally give Boeing the finger when recalls happen. That’s why layoffs have been up in the air.
If there was an abundance of ‘skilled’ people they could hire, and the job market wasn’t as good, I think we would had already seen the layoffs start.
I would not put too much stock into what the media says until they say: Boeing announces layoffs, followed up by something from the union after the fact.
Until then, just keep plugging away, work some overtime, if available, and don’t make any large purchases.
