Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

What happens when they chase out all the talent and knowledge?

For a company that run some complex businesses we sure give up on knowledgeable and talented people easily. What’s the leadership thinking? I get it that every corporation wants its labor to be as cheap as possible, but it’s not like we’re McDonald's, where one employee could be replaced by another one in a second.

That is already happened. Talent is gone.

What happens? Leaders cash bonus checks. Eventually the cookie jar runs out and the leaders go to other companies with fatter bank accounts. And the company is much smaller.

Totally agree see the point of the original post. This issue surrounds me daily. I think as we loose the ability to maintain, trouble shoot and manufacture complex products, we will sell them off.

HON is too big to fail in near future. Still has at least a few more years for Big D to woo investors with promise of tech innovation and revenue growth before the financial engineering catches up to him. Then we will be reading about HON in the wsj instead of GE fraud.

It's SIMPLE. The customer quits buying out products and we go OUT OF BUSINESS in that market. Corporate then buys new businesses and the cycle starts anew.

You are under the false impression that leadership still values those old products. They don’t. We are a software company. Catch up on the town halls. Mechanical, reliability, radiation effects, ASIC, and other pure hardware disciplines need not apply.
Software designers are a commodity that we can rent from Romania ( sorry India but Eastern Europe is cheaper).

This falls into the "hide and watch" category. I'm thinking it won't turn out well, but one never knows. If you're not working there anymore and have divested all your HON stock, it doesn't really matter, beyond entertainment value.
