Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Long-term career at Xerox

Is there anybody left who still believes that's a possibility? From what I can see, most people are here short-term, both new hires and older employees.

Seems to me like more and more people are starting to accept the fact that Xerox is a sinking ship. Which is a good thing, nobody should be putting their faith into this place and this management.

There's only a certain kind of people who can be promoted at my core. Men. And men related to higher ups who are men. It's sickening. Our core is very quickly reverted back to a good ol' boys club since Xerox sunk their teeth in.

I remember when it was asked during the review process with Management , “Where do you see yourself in five years.Do you have a three year plan ?” Makes me want to cry considering the way things are today.

the only career path atm is folks are getting promoted (without extra pay) because so many folks are leaving = low paid low skill bad managers in charge ..who are struggling under the workload..I do hope some top xrx folks read this.

It really depends on where you are.

Mostly we hear comments here about folks in GIS/XBS, and obviously that's been hit with the HCL thing.

It also seems like most of the old XIM is moving to Raleigh, if they haven't already been let go.

Product engineering in Webster has had minimal impact in the last few years. If you are in engineering, I don't expect any substantial reductions in the near term.

Not me. I'm trying to get out, but it's slow going. Luckily, my financial situation is stable and even if I was fired tomorrow, I'd be ok for several months. Gonna take a bit, but I'll get out. I don't care about Xerox one way or the other... but what it's done to my Core is beyond depressing.

It is Sunday of Labor Day Weekend. Go play with your kids, take a walk outside, or do something productive.
