Social group under OMC got layoffs. They got rid of everyone in that group. That's what i have heard from someone

Word in Burlington is yes for the Deal Advancement Team. Folks being asked to show their value, and justify their seats.
If it happens — As difficult as it might feel, layoff can be a great blessing. Go with courage and confidence, and explore other career opportunities. I left Oracle a few months back after working there for 15+ years ... even though I was hoping for a layoff so I get severance but it didn't happen. The work culture where I am right now is so vastly different and vibrant, and people are so much nicer and naturally it shows well in their output and revenues.
I always felt that there is an established arrogance, rudeness, and poor behavior from some of the top leaders at Oracle that trickles down all the way to middle managers ... and until that changes at the top, those patterns will continue. I hope Oracle's HR or an external consulting company sincerely works with them on an altered behavior.
Anyhow, leave if you can ... or if you get laid off, use that severance for a break or gain some training, and know that there are plenty of opportunities available for conscious and talented employees.
So close to Open World? Not likely. Immediately after or during? Probably. If Oracle didn't have a good quarter, definitely.
