Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

ATTN: Mr Lance Fritz

Mr. Lance Fritz, I hope that wherever you are has clean windows. If they're not clean, then you should probably get them cleaned by a willing staff member. Oh wait, they were probably furloughed. Do what you can to get those windows cleaned, so you can have an unobstructed view at what you're doing to this RR. I remember a town hall video you did back in Jan. 2018, and you stated very clearly how you would not be implementing PSR. You stated in that video that "PSR was not a good idea, and it only seemed to benefit the shareholders!" Mr Fritz, do you remember saying that? If not then I would recommend that you scroll through your DVL and find it. Now take a look out your windows and see all of your lies and mistakes. The biggest mistake you've made is probably in the office next to you, and his name is Mr. Jim Vena. I NEVER EVER remember Mr. Young ever making a special video apologizing to the employees about the title changing. You had an idea about making the Brazos yard and how that would be centralized yard and how it would handle the most rail cars in the system. I don't think I need to ask for an update on that, do I? How much money was already invested in that? How much money was Mr. Vena given to come aboard to implement PSR? How many people on your executive team have been furloughed? Now look out your windows again and tell me what you see. You can't see out of them can you? Now think about you're claim of transparency. How transparent do you think you are. There's an old saying about spreading b—s—. You can only spread the b—s— so thin, before people start to see right through it. You sir have failed as CEO. You approval rating on public and social media platforms is lower than I've ever seen for an active CEO. You publish your townhall videos, only to make yourself look more and more selfish. The Q and A segments are completely exhausting to some and unbelievably irritating to most. Why can't you ever answer a question honestly? Why do you sidestep the question with a long, drawn out, and sometimes incoherent answer? I really think that it's time for you to step down as CEO, and remove yourself completely from this company. You have failed this company, you have failed your employees, and you have most importantly failed the motto of "Building America". I sincerely hope you see this and read it. I hope Mr. Vena sees it as well. Mr. Vena, you sir are no better. You need to remove yourself from the company as well. You have done nothing but ruin this company even more with PSR. Myself and probably everyone else aren't stuck with a delusional image of what a railroad should be. Operational efficiency has many degrees as long as you know the variables to make adjustments to keep the outcome consistent. You're not God. It's impossible to know every variable of the operation. The UP has been involved with TWO congressional subcommittee hearings. Right along with most unions, and a few shippers. I don't recall ANYONE stating how good PSR was. The only thing that really stood out in the first hearing is Mr. Batorys' willingness to cater to the RR's. He never said that PSR was good though. I don't know if you think your employees are just ignorant, oblivious, or completely stupid. I can assure you that were not. You have or had employees that have multiple degrees, including masters degrees. Mr. Fritz, your employees are not stupid. The employees you let go aren't stupid either. You have/had employees that are very intelligent and hard working. I could very well keep this letter going but I feel it would be rather pointless. Whether you care or not, is for you to decide. The same goes for Mr. Vena. You both need to remember that actions DO speak louder than words.

I wish all my fellow RR's brothers and sisters to stand up and be heard. I strongly encourage all that have been affected to write to your Congress, expressing your concerns to them. Some of you may think that will do nothing, but you're wrong. Any letter sent to congress, or any of its ranking members must be answered. Mr. Lance Fritz and the rest of his executive team need to be removed, or investigated. An investigation is great way to get some unneeded attention. We need to stand up for ourselves, our jobs, and our futures. Good luck to all and God bless!

The last post got a little off topic there. The original post was dead nuts on. I'm sure the exec's saw it by now. Does it really matter who makes the decisions in this sh1thole company? Fritz, Vena, and probably the rest of the corporate f—tards have some tough days coming soon. Anyone except me question why he signed a so-called declaration announcing what sort of amounts to a financial realignment? That's a very interesting move considering all the BS he's done so far. Does everyone know about Vena and his story before the UP, because I do. I witnessed his wrath before the UP. Vena is Hunter Harrison 2.0. He's using the same b—s— ideals and mindset the Harrison used. The UP executives are not to be trusted at all! That f—ing declaration is a joke. It'll be business as usual. Brace yourselves people. The PSR train wreck hasn't happened yet. Regardless of what people believe or want to believe, I've witnessed PSR sodomy at the CP and now the UP. This is very far from over, unless an intervention takes place.

Heres a thought, who do you think actually wrote the OP for this thread? I wish you all could see the corruption behind all of this, but your only seeing things in black and white. Try focusing on the gray area, open up your mind, think outside of the box. This is nothing more than a distraction written by Lances Public Relations team. Funded by Blackrock. You know that feeling you get when you buy a lotto ticket and spend the rest of the day in euphoria imagining what you would do with all that money? Then come to find out its not a winner? You spent 2 dollars on a fantasy, you got what you paid for nothing more, nothing less. Nothing came of it or ever will. Now how did you feel after reading this original post? Hope? like someones is going to read it and fix everything? Only to find out days later nothing came of it or ever will. Just saying, now if youll excuse me I need to make another tinfoil hat.

Okay well BlackRock investment group doesn't call the shots with the UNP. You're terribly misinformed with that view. Lance Fritz is chairman, president, and CEO of UNP. If you actually understand the corporate ladder then you would know that Fritz actually answers to no one. He was elected by the Board of Directors to take the CEO position. Technically he answers to the board, but only from a financial standpoint. Neither the board nor any investment group can call the shots within the company. If what you're saying were actually true, then there be no need for him as CEO or any CEO for that matter. The executive teams of corporations are elected, not hired. The UP exec's are the ones that started PSR, not BlackRock. UNP proposed a plan to boost market value, in order for an increase of investments. Investors are more likely to invest in a company that can show stable or increasing value. PSR was ONLY designed to boost the market value, then slowly fade into normal business. People simply don't see or want to see the facts. If it was made to be a turn around business plan, then why did the UP adopt it? Share value was down around 125 per share. It's now hovering around 165 to 170 per share. Hence the PSR model of market value. The higher share prices is a sign of company strength. This is believe it or not working against the UP and other class 1's right now. Many questions are being raised during earning calls and weekly reports to the surface transportation board. PSR is at a tipping point right now. Don't speculate about who answers to who. If you really want to be personal about it, then Lance Fritz and Jim Vena will be answering to a lot of people very soon.

First you need to understand that Lance doesn’t call the shots. He does what he’s told by his boss, just like you. His boss is Blackrock.

I'm a fellow railroaded "Machinist" that has been keeping tabs on the railroads due to all the c-ap that's been going on lately. Honestly it sad and disheartening to see the Class 1 railroads to PSR and then cut workers due to greed, thought railroads were a good place to work at one time. I mean shoot "us" craft workers have literally built America from the ground and up and then this is how you treat us. I mean when they're guys and gals who have a ton of experience/ seniority then you decided to cut them like what the hell, especially those with more than 10 years on the rails. Anyways well written letter and I hope Fritz does get put on scene cause that man is such a liar for sure. Don't know how one can sleep at night like that. Anyways well written letter to whoever wrote it and wish all of you best of luck. Fellow railroaded "Machinist" IAM Local 612

Up is and has been rotten at the core for decades. Evidenced by its severe culture problem.

Lance is just a stooge.

The scary part is if he did leave who’d be in charge? He ran off all the managers that actually knew something about running a railroad. They were the managers that wasn’t afraid to give their opinion about PSR, they gave honest feedback unlike the VP’s they have in place now.

Could be a corporate shark. Be careful. UP hires a guy to make the cuts, then as pre-arrainged, gets rid of him after all the damage is done. It is propaganda. After this, they will call on those left to be commitited since they want all those left to believe they got rid of the bad guy. However, the one they hired to do the damage will walk away with a big bonus. Its all planned. Don't be fooled; it's a replay of 1997.

I didn’t read the whole thing, but they got plenty of window lickers in Omaha so clean windows shouldn’t be a problem.
