so @ZrYZjj6-3ocs , the layoffs that occurred today aren't rumors. You are soooo disconnected and maybe part of Senior Management or the Board. You certainly shouldn't be posting on this site.

I heard today that IT is being hit and the Philippines operation is going to India. No surprise here. This was already decided months ago.

Haha...RIF free after March?? Clearly you are disconnected. I believe KC was hit less than 2 weeks ago. Unless that was a staged walk-off. LOL. Companies will always tell you what you want to hear - there is no law. They have lost all loyalty so they really could care less at this point. It’s called employment at will for a reason. They can tell an employee when they are no longer needed, just as we can quit any day we want without any notice.

So far they've kept each round of RIFs at any one location below the threshold where they would have to make an external announcement. It was only for the first major round that hit my department that we heard anything from anyone near an exec level.

There's been no announcement that restructuring is complete. This Friday fits as an obvious date for further reductions, and many of the rumours have foundation. The one for upcoming cuts to my department has more than one source.

Of course, we've been here before and they haven't happened or they've been delayed, but I don't think we're done under BD.

These are all rumours. If there is going to be mass retrenchment, the firm has to give an announcement. They can’t just sweep under the carpet

The company never ever made it clear that there would be no more RIF's this year. Not sure what company said that but it wasn't AIG. Open your eyes and ears and read some of the posts, there have been and will be more RIF's this year.

to @ZrYZjj6-2ltk, that is false information you posted. There have been many RIF's since march. Either you don't read the post or you are trying to spread false information on this site. Speak and spread the truth.

AIG never advertises a RIF. Speculation without an informed source accomplishes nothing. Going back to March, the company made it clear the rest of the year will be RIF free. I believe that to be the case now just as I did then.

No one is spreading rumors. Time has a way of showing how true the information posted is. Some people are in denial and don't want others to see what is happening across the board at AIG. Thanks to this site when we hear something we can post it. So far the information I have seen has turned out to be credible and correct and not a rumor!

Not sure why all of the nasty comments. You will make people not want to post. A lot of the rumors turned out to be true. This site may be the only source for information for some employees.

to the poster: "Stop spreading rumors if you are not sure" ...this site is for "rumors." If you want only facts, then find another site. Read the website's purpose statement.
