Trouble is @ZoABVOu-ezbi now more than ever customers are wanting lower cost.

We all know that in a cost reduction model the quality decreases with the cost, however in order to goal seek the optimum point you need to wind things down through the pain barrier then back up again.

The customers themselves are partly to blame for their own pain - almost certainly they picked the cheapest contract to sign. Of course DXC also have a high degree of blame too.

Best shoring isn't always best, some items would be best done in the country where the work needs to be done, a reimage of a server shouldn't take 3 months to complete, how this is cost effective God only knows, this is bad for the customer and laughable. Lack of knowledge, cheap labour isn't all its cracked up to be.

I'm not surprised more jobs aren't brought back,

Post ID: @ZoABVOu-emt No one in India or other lower priced countries took our roles, the company took our roles and gave them to cheaper cost people. Can't blame an India guy/girl for getting a job to support their families, but can blame our governments that allow jobs to be sent off-shore without a penalty of some sort.

We can blame our company for hiring staff that are not as good as existing staff, but are paid less as well.

Half of the 10,000 from FY19 were in India? I actually find that hard to believe...

When the merger happened it was perfectly clear that ES had very very high numbers of US and European employees - of the 142,000 odd people coming over from HPE, well in excess of 110,000 were from the West.

The figure for the cost per employee cited in that article will be simply because of those Western jobs - it won't have been Indians.

I'd expect to have seen some attrition in India (which were mainly CSC people) but always since DXC came into being, it was onshore Western jobs they targeted.

I'd love to see the make up of DXC staff locations now geographically, because I suspect that the US and the UK have born most of the cuts by a massive margin. More recently Australia seems to have taken a beating too.

The place where it won't have happened will be in mainland Europe... because they are hard to RIF...

Good to see! Many USA and European jobs were best shored, it's nice to see the same is now happening for those who took our roles!
