Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Have the lay-offs started to happen 6/19/19?

The word was there we’re supposed to be massive layoffs this week. I have not heard of any yet, any word out there?

Thanks @ZDx70r8-8ldu. I don't hold any ill will to my peers. I cannot say the same about DXC. It is a terrible company. So much worse than the worst of the Hurd days of HP.

@ZDx70r8-7vor - Best of luck and good for you. You know DXC is c..p. But still do not hold ill feelings towards your ex peers and work professionally and know that you are better off.

I was given notice of WFR (Americas). I called my major client and now have a job there starting next week. For more money and better benefits. DXC swirling the drain

@Wintel, DXC doesn't care if it's legal. In our segment, they would rather pay penalties for not staffing the contracts than hire people. By some bizarre logic it makes more sense to them. I wish they would stop pretending to be a real company.

In the US the consulting practice laid off several people today on billable projects. Is that even legal?

Can they make you leave on CR if they decline VR?

In the US layoffs are always given on a Thursday. You then have one day to pack your bags and get out.

Yes, US staff were given WFR's last Thursday with employment ending the next day. Canadian employees were informed this Monday but continue to work until this Friday due to employee protections granted under Canadian law.

Thats not 2150 from Chesterfield.... thats 2150 (max) from DXC UK&I. But Chesterfield is to close.

And its true, its just come from Unite the Union - before anyone questions the truth in this.

There is a rumor that DXC are to close chesterfield offices in Uk resulting in 2150 redundancies. This is a fifth of the uk workforce. Must have been a big drop in share value.

Three people from our team based in Costa Rica were WFR’s on Monday.

In the US, we usually hear about WFRs on Thursdays. Be patient.

I know quite a few in UK&I who are now on gardening leave having been accepted for VR. I also know several people who have been refused due to client criticality. I also know of team members in USA who have been show the door after many years of loyal service. I am expecting the announcements of CR to take place second week of July.

People have been leaving following their VR acceptance. I know of around 20 people who have left since last Friday. My assumption is that this will continue this week and possibly into next week before we get the usual "you are in a pool for CR| email at the start of next month - purely speculation of course.
