Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

NRM management dominated by a group ?

I’ve been working at NRM for more than a decade. What I am seeing is people in management from a certain ethnic group support their group to move them to next levels, to management and during layoffs. In the last 6-7 layoffs, I’ve not seen many or even one from that group compared to others. Is it my own perception, need to correct if I am wrong?

The CEO, his honchos on the board are doing an organized loot. Let that be the vision too (loot) in any way you can when you show up for work everyday

I survived numerous layoffs. My coworkers that were impacted were white, black, Indian, Asian, old, young, straight, g--, female, male, etc. I’m not following your logic. If anything this company should be considered uber liberal and now following the sjw mentality that has invaded the various tech companies in recent years.

Simply delete the survey. It works great.

@ZB6xZGG-7gih They try to manipulate people so they can manipulate the truth. The truth hurts sometimes and when they cant fight the truth they start to panic.

Basically. Poor ratings did spur any action. Team gets tired of manager calling meetings whinging about their poor ratings. Team gives higher ratings to not have to hear about it anymore. Nothing changes except now the management looks good because the survey is higher.

@ZB6xZGG-4tgj .Its just a box ticking exercise so that they can say that they've done it.If things don't improve it wont be their fault,it will be ours. The workforce know that it is all a futile effort and a waste of money.

We've also been told that same thing in Seagate Springtown by managers. We've been told to leave, that the gates are there to keep people out,not keep people in.The atmosphere between operators and unit manager and shift managers is toxic.A new short focal survey has been put out and here in STST the shift manager was trying to coerce people to answer questions in a certain way.If managers need guidance on how to treat people then that just shows the type of people they are.Bullying narcissistic vindictive managers with zero people skills.

We know...most of our boss' bosses are in STST. At least you guys are having sessions saying 'hey, treat people as if they're people' where in the US capitalism it's 'if you don't like being treated like a machine, tough'

You think NRM management are bad.Seagate Springtown in Derry management have to participate in a serious of meetings and focus groups to teach them how to treat people in a fair and better way.Let that sink in.This applies to all managers not just the top of the tree. Imagine having to be guided and taught how to treat people better.Leopards will never change their spots.

It's safer and cheaper to avoid any potential litigation raised by claims of discrimination by race. Plus diversity numbers are big for marketing careers. You'll likely remember a certain A shift unit manager from years ago that was around much longer than they should have been - same thing.
