They "harmonizing" our positions and cutting our STI bonus % payouts again...the end is near so hang on!
Left 2 years ago this past December. The best thing I ever did. To young to totally retire...but guess what I'm HAPPY and doing just fine. Life is too short. RUN Forrest RUN.
Laid off in Dublin couple months of pay and a "we didn't know this was coming, run the ship is sinking!!!
Well a bunch of us in Dublin got the package today. Don’t know the exact number but they are getting rid of everyone. Doesn’t matter if you have poor performance or not. I read an article that more layoffs are coming. Just be prepared and good luck!
Funny you mention Storey hiring a consultant. We were just told today in Monroe that the residential side lost over a billion dollars last year, with some estimating it could go as high as five or six billion, and that he was bringing in a consultant to tell him what to do.
The package is pretty straightforward, and relies on what's in your contract language. I can assure any of you who have gambled the other foot will fall. think long and hard on what your going to do moving forward. Its public old news that Jeff Storey has hired an outside consultant/Advisor's, to examine what's left on the bone, and what is the best decision to do with it. Mid management would do well to sharpen resumes up, and get out there a bit...if your not 40 YRS invested its anyones game.
As far as rank and file, look for them to try to get the numbers down low enough in your area to break the union. That is of utmost importance to the new guard. perhaps an additional package each quarter until they have the numbers to break the union in each perspective area. there are many CTL areas that will never miss a beat and march right through these weird times. While the rest of you dangle on cross connect, waiting for either the doors to "close", or to be spun once again or to be sold.
Some areas are ripe to be sold for pennies on the dollar. and IF.....IF they can convince the FCC they are unable to turn a profit, and have another company in the area that they would be willing to GIVE the area to you could certainly see some areas turn AT&T or other if geography and the FCC align. Over All CTL WILL Continue on with its new found fiber clout, and will in all probability be a major player in the transport game.
What's most important in this vastly changing environment, is that the changes will be different everywhere , all dependent on plant, systems, geography ,television head ends etc. so what may be happening here does not necessarily mean it will EVER happen there...and vice versa...some areas will retain things others don't...but in the end I do believe wireline is going to well its imminent time will tell. Good luck to those that are making a go of it
Good Luck to the "new blood" world is changing so why shouldn't the way communications and media are delivered change too It was a great run met some really good people had some fun and so alas it was time to move on in life ….
@Z4HARiE-1bqj what was the package like? 1 week for each year of service right? that's like spitting into your face after all these years of sweat and blood... i bet it was c-ap but of course no one will admit it since everyone wants to walk out with heads up.
They always start in the South East work up to the North East then the Midwest or Central areas then Arizona and Utah then the Northwest with this, staggered as well stealthy.
42 SW Florida what are we talking how SW ? Fort Meyers area again? how about other areas we have tech exiting now.... from other areas in Florida as well is what the news is on the street
42 people took a package in SW Florida. Its official as of 05/16/19. they are spacing out letting people go . some leave 5/30/19 others are being held until sometime in late June .
What about all the guys in Sw Florida who last day is the 30th from the package they just got
good inside source you have there
No more packages. CTL will focus only on firing of union employees for poor work performance. There will be NO union contracts in 2020 thank good... Finally
Don't hold your breath for ANY package.... This failing company doesn't give two shoots about you!
@Z4HARiE-btb is right. As someone who got a confirmed answer from insider source there will be no package as previous ones. Top management is not going to shell any more money this time so they will offer sh--ty packages that you will have no choice but to swallow.
There wont be anymore packages. Company wont waste money. Just sell or spin us off.
Oh you darn right i am! I already have a plan in place for escaping this hell. I wish i would have taken the last offer.
If there is a "next package". I my area techs have been begging for a package. But only a few got them.
