Some of the best people I've worked with have been "older". However those same people have always been energetic and keen to keep learning, reinventing themselves.

I always valued the older and/or more experienced people on any team or company where I have worked. It has served me well. Go ahead and enjoy being young and educated, but completely inexperienced in how things actually work. Make all the mistakes you could have avoided or mitigated.
