Don’t use DXC on your resume

FYI; I put out my resume 60 days ago referencing DXC as my current employer; received zero interest. Decided to list HPE as my current employer (I was with HPE prior to merger) 2 weeks ago and now have 3 interviews. The market has little knowledge of DXC and if they do, they don’t think highly of it. When you get the call, you can tell them about about DXC merger from HPE and CSC and how F****D they are as a company and why you want get out. At least you will have a shot to be known. I think many recruiters put a DXC resume in the trash bin. This may help many of our existing DXC employees who are seeking to get out of DXC ASAP. I can’t wait to be out of here .

I still work for legacy CSC not DXC, because my paycheck is still from CSC. Don’t realky know what this DXC thing is

Per SEC, DXC issued a total of 141,298,797 shares of DXC Common Stock to CSC stockholders, representing approximately 49.9% of the outstanding shares of DXC Common Stock immediately following the Merger. As a result of the Merger, CSC is now a direct wholly owned subsidiary of DXC.

Prior to the Spin-Off, HPE was the sole stockholder of DXC.

CSC CEO, Pres a/hole became DXC CEO, Pres and became a bigger a/hole as if that was possible.

Everett actually may have been 50.1 and CSC 49.9 so in a way Everett (primarily ex-EDS) took over CSC and DXC became a bigger turd. After a while, more ex-EDS and worse mgmt than CSC had took over mgmt positions except primarily JML and his right hand person who couldn't lead CSC HR and now had 3x the mess.

What does all this mean? Turd became bigger, rich got richer and mgmt took almost 100 million dollars bonus from this deal? Even poor Hilton got millions and his fate would have been same even without the merger. That was a failed, useless hiring, probably because hiring team was concentrating on eating and pre/post events they had plans for instead of hiring.

EDS wAs acquired by HP and then sold to CSC for 50 cents on the dollar. It's not a merger, get over it. Dxc is a holding company of 600 business es

"Whereabout are they based?"

They're a global company

"Oh? I don't think I've..."

They were formed from a merger with HP...

"Ah right - HP, yes. Okay. Why did you leave there?"

They were going through a difficult time and having to downsizing onshore operations as part of a global $2B cost take out and they wanted to offshore everything to low cost countries...So I left to join x where I had the opportunity to lead a team in....

I had a problem when I interviewed about my resume looking like I had jumped around companies recently because of all the splits. I fixed this on my resume by having one heading that listed HP Family of Companies and then listed my positions with HP, HPE, and DXC and separate titles under that company heading. Much easier to explain that the company kept changing even though I stayed at the same desk with the same people around me for the entire time.

It actually became a good talking point in interviews and potential companies were impressed that I stayed on and was productive in spite of all the company changes around me. It helped me to find a new job because my new company was looking for someone who could handle change and deal with company mergers and splits. My message was that there was nothing they could throw at me that would surprise me or frustrate me.

"YOUR" resume is a reflection of "YOU" , and not a reflection of the companies you have been employed with. Your resume is selling yourself and not a company. My advise to anyone applying for employment beyond the DXC centrifuge , is to focus on your successes and contributions to a companies benefit . When the question , " why did you depart the company " , comes up, know that if the interviewer new anything about DXC, they would not ask it in the first place. Its only a General question for any departure. They are feeling you out for a loyalty component. Thats funny considering that the loyalty towards a company , and visa versa, died decades ago.

There has not been any sense of loyalty in the business world since the 60's. We all know , including the interviewer, that a "Human Resources Department" has been replaced with an "Employee Resources Department".

They only care if you left under conflicting terms and are they going to be concerned if and when they play the same game that DXC has .

If you already know your worth, then you have nothing to fear .

Ill put DXC on my resume . I have no issues telling anyone future employer of the achievements that I have attained under that corporation .

Because my resume is about ME. Not DXC.

@YoDaQ3Y-1yip perfectly possible for people to have worked on accounts that you might have worked on before when you were here. So I'd discount that as certainly lying...

The number of accounts over 20 years I have worked on without any of the dedicated account team being aware of my name is very large indeed.

Sometimes people's actions are invisible cogs in the greater machine.

I might add though that I'd never mention those account names on my CV, maybe only in passing if someone mentioned a company name at an interview.

I am currently looking to hire personnel for several projects and there is no shortage of DXC staff looking to leave. They seemingly have multiple job roles and are actively lying about their experience and work performed in the past. Several people claimed to have worked with a client that I am very familiar with yet I have never seen or heard of the applicants. This is the unfortunate side of DXC employees applying for roles which they are definitely not qualified or suitable for.

Desperate times at DXC cause employees to take desperate measures but beware there are knowledgeable employers out there that can see through CVs.

A an x employee of CSC (employed 20 years) but went via Redundancy, I would not recommend saying to new hires how screwed DXC are, you need to be more positive tell them how you worked what you did and you feel that you need new challenges etc. No one wants to hire someone who is maoning about current employer and show bitterness etc....
