Looking at the Severance SPD doc on Pulse and Service Credits were lowered to 1.5 weeks Base Pay (was 2 weeks) p/yr (+) prorate for full weeks completed.
VA UE max weekly pay is $378. So Anthem takes your weekly pay - $378 and that's what gets deposited.

In California ALL accrued vacation and PTO MUST be paid out when an employee voluntarily resigns or is Layed off. California does not require employers to pay out sick time. Employers can elect to pay out sick time as a matter of policy.
Good callout on the CA. The Virginia UE max was $378 and they do deduct that from Anthem pay. Anthem pays the difference in their reg pay cycle. You get the UE paid out on the weekly state payout cycle. The max of 40 hour payout for PTO was in Virginia. Remember "Who moved my cheese?" the book. Not a pleasant situation but after the storm it gets better.
I want to confirm that if you live in California you will get paid for "all" PTO accrued. Other states it's up to 40 hrs max. I just resigned and I was paid for all 228 hours that I had.

Sorry, but I think you already know the hard truth. And it's really difficult to get my head around the cruelty of all this. Especially when you're trying so hard to make ends meet.
1) If you can still access Pulse, I recommend you go to the HR Benefits > Other Benefits and look for Severance and additional links on the right.
2) You've been paying into the UE system with every paycheck so (think/hope) you'll be eligible for some type of benefit through UE.
3) Call your State UE office today.

They're really nice. Most have been RIF'd before too, so have paper and pen ready and just let them give you advice.
I sincerely wish you the best. If you're still employed, you're ahead of the game. So take some solace in knowing you had advanced notice. That's how I see it. Those who went before us really got a terrible shock. And remember; you are not alone.
So, those of us who had to take on part time employment because Anthem doesn't pay fairly, are ultimately screwed if we get RIF'd because of that part time employment? I mean it wouldn't surprise me, but I'm just seeing if I'm understanding this correctly.
@YYmINn5-1qpe You're right. To others with questions... Look on Pulse > HR > Other Benefits > then look to the right for a link to the Supp doc that spells out the payout. To me, it looks like Sick will be deducted from PTO.

California law provides that accrued vacation time or PTO belongs to the employee. Employees may either use their vacation time during their employment, or cash out the value of those hour at the time of their separations. When an employee quits or is fired or laid off, all accrued, unused vacation time must be included in the employee's final paycheck.
Is that 40 hours max PTO pay out applicable also for CA associates? As far as I know the rule is different for CA. Can someone confirm this ?
Pto paid out for 40 hrs max. The rest is lost if you dont take it.
For those who are still unaware, the old sick hours that was frozen into STD hours are now again open up for sick time use. If you have these hours I suggest you use it as much as you can since they won’t pay these hours when you get RIF’ed.
For California Associates, I do believe Anthem will pay all your unused PTO hours when you are let go. At least that is what I think so, please correct me if I am wrong on this.
Don't forget to keep up with your PTO. it looks like they don't pay sick or other types of time off. I suspect they'll categorize any carryover as "sick" or something they don't have to pay. Not sure how it's calculated so I'm using all I can before they swipe it out from under us.
You're right. 1Q AIP results were posted and they have disclaimers.
I swear if it was up to Anthem alone they won’t give a dime for Associates that are laid off. That is how greedy this company has become. Just watch, I bet Anthem Leadership Team is hard at work now trying to figure out how to eliminate AIP.
