How long has Am Girl been under RD? Directly or indirectly?

Honestly, how many quarters can AG sales decline 30+% before they're just no more sales? WTF is going on? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

AG don't be gullible. JM may have been the nail in your coffin which was built over time by the same machine that f'd over FP. Mattel always lacked the curiosity to understand the businesses they acquired. They always think they know better. It's in the air there. JM was just a progeny of the machine.

I didn't know JM demanded expensive details for her office at FP. She did the same thing at AG. Her first order of business was to remodel her entire office as well as the cafeteria. She let go of the whole cafe staff and turned it into a poorly run multi-million dollar McDonalds with a fireplace. She overhauled Bitty Baby and raised its price. Customers were furious. JM was the beginning of the end at AG.

Lol there’s no way they’d bring JM back.

GM at Fisher Price? She was in the office maybe 3 or 4 days, demanded expensive details for her office, and then disappeared.. We used her office as a meeting space. It had the most comfortable couch on the planet and the most beautiful glass table. I do no believe she ever stepped foot in the place for more than 2-3 weeks...tops... Give me a break.

How so? I thought JM did a great job, in fact didn't she get promoted to GM at Fisher-Price? Explain how that could have happened if she'd caused AG to bite the dust?

I heard they've recruited JM out of retirement to stop the bleeding and return AG to it's former glory. They're just working out a few details, expect an official announcement soon.

As a former AG leader, I've heard from a few former AG colleagues that they don't believe AG will be around in a couple years, and that they're just waiting it out in until the end. Predictions?

Not true about the ASMs. In 2018 a few ASMs were affected. The store I’m in plus my partner store still have their ASM

In recent years Mattel has failed to manage the AG business? Isn't the real problem that in recent years Mattel has tried to manage the AG business?

All Assistant Store Managers were eliminated. The retail structure of AG was never set up correctly but they pay for an HR manager in small stores because they are soooo afraid of getting sued. It felt like prison. Leaving AG was the BEST thing I ever did.

And employees and shareholders were told by a number of Chief executive Officers....”we have the right manage team in place” when all the screw ups, and business mistakes were made. Year after year. AG was a good business.

A couple corporate layoffs last week. Sounds like a lot at various retail locations. Many "life-ers" are putting in their 2-week notices.
