Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Trolls

I hope people realize that there are people posting here that don't have a clue. Many are disgruntled employees or former employees. The truth is the layoffs are kept under wraps under penalty of firing if an HR person tips anyone off. Yes, there are layoffs . The information they give are lucky guesses most of the time.

There is accurate information regarding RIF's that aren't guesses, but turn out to be true and factual. It's a fact that there were RIF's today and there are many more to come. That is a fact and not a guess or a rumor.

This post is funny, of course people know ahead of time. I knew my boss was getting RIFFed weeks before it happened. Then my boss called some of us the day before it happened to let us know that the infamous meeting planner had been added to his calendar. OP needs to get real!

We all hear it 2 weeks before. Then we see the Angel of death walking around the floor and it's done by lunch. Almost always accurate.

Oh come on. I get calls all the time from ex high level AIG long timers that were Riffed. They let me know what is coming and they are always accurate. They are still connected to their AIG network. Clueless? Um no.

I was a very small fish in the pond and always got a heads up through the rumor mill which region was getting hit. I assumed the originator was someone who was observing unusual activity within their department.

To Post ID: @Xie4PaU …. People here don't have a clue? I would not dismiss the comments here. Many people who are posting were through the process, I can tell by their wording and tone. I know for a fact that it is true, as I over heard my own RIF being mentioned. It is not as kept under wraps as you claim, again most of the comments are pretty accurate. I also have not read anything so derogatory that it is just venting, it looks pretty straight forward and honest.

Choose you words a little more carefully.

The posts here are pretty accurate. I was with AIG 19 years before RIF, and I heard about my RIF in the café by an HR person talking openly. So come on!...the environment is all who you know, and where to go. Now a days someone could find out most information by just hanging around the correct people. So that HR spiel about protected information and privacy. I don't think so

all I know is that there are more than a few people who do nothing all day long...who will probably still have a job after they lay the rest of us off. I'm getting tired of seeing people pretend working when I am busier than ever due to lay offs.

Sounds like Post ID: @Xie4PaU wants to believe the party line, maybe coming from someone in HR?

When I was there I had a regular stream of information on my mini-grapevine and it was very accurate.

I knew about 3 - 4 people who ALWAYS got information on up and coming RIFs and they were VERY accurate, so it's a fantasy to think that everyone keeps this under wraps or that people are making "lucky guesses".

I've seen several times, when actions were coming in my area (of which I was informed of because I had to participate) these sources typically knew in advance things were happening and sometimes with good detail, certainly the timing as well. They didn't always know exact names of those impacted but they did hear about locations where actions were occurring and approximate numbers.

Somebody is communicating this information to people, somewhere.

The OP is dead wrong. As a company veteran I’ve gotten tips on ensuing layoffs numerous times. This isn’t the CIA. Once you know a lot of people throughout the company it’s not that hard to have accurate inside information on and outside of your adept.

By mentioning the political statement, that person may have been trying to show how rumors are worth mentioning, and that just because no facts can immediately support a statement, it can still be very insightful and the turn of events highly likely. . . . But what do I know -- On top of constantly worrying about getting RIF'ed, i have to deal with someone who is actively trying to snag my job since this person's work has dried up completely. Super tight with supervisors and they think the person is GREAT (think of Toby on Sienfeld, and you'll understand). Yes, I know - TMI. Good luck to all.

I agree with Post ID: @Xie4PaU-nod. This site has proven to be quite accurate. Not sure why Post ID: @Xie4PaU-ycz had to try to slip in something political when we are talking about AIG.

Have to disagree. Sure, everyone knows that something written on the rumor site should be taken with the grain of salt, but it’s pretty easy to recognize what’s just a wild guess, and what should be taken into consideration. And this site showed on multiple occasions that the truth always comes out.

I heard that Trump is pursuing building the wall without congressional approval by declaring an emergency- but I’m clueless so not really sure yet. Just rumors.
