Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Why would anybody join DXC as it is now?

I see these young people who are joining the DXC workforce pretty much en masse to replace the older laid off workers, and I can't figure out why. The most basic search can uncover what kind of company DXC is and how it treats its employees. And yet nobody seems to care to be entering such toxic and uncertain situation.

Can somebody enlighten me on why is that?

Most Millenials aren't looking for permanent jobs. Everything is a part-time gig for them, and they usually have a couple of gigs at a time. Jobs are a revolving door.

I don't think we have to worry about them showing loyalty to a c-ap company like we did. They see what's happened to their parents. They'll move on when it becomes inconvenient or they get a better offer.

Fully agree, those college grads who have typically no experience and who joined the company 5 yrs back and Importantly ( who slept or a$$ licked ) are now managers.

Not likely that DXC will move forward in the current circumstances with cheap streetsmart managers and ignorant freshers. Its more like a circus, rather than long term planning.

Talented engineers should not stick with DXC as its become a short term circus game.

In India those young people joining DXC at this time when the company is passing through turmoil, are mostly from very small companies or fresher without any experience/technical knowledge. They are joining because CSC/DXC is still a big name for them and have got higher salaries than what they received in their previous organizations. In the initial 6-7 months , their contribution would be zero or limited to creating report in Excel or that kind of silly things. Once the honeymoon period gets over, the smart guys switch the company and remaining those who can't find a job outside, will stick to the company and one day he/she would be a manager :-) . That's exactly what happens.

@arj Depends on the role and how desperate they are to fill it. Package offered can be OK given the right circumstances.

Been out of DXC for a while, but the lure of a decent salary no doubt attracts some.

It will have a be a decent salary as they won't recent pay rises for the foreseeable future.
