They did the same thing in Thailand last year to stem the outpouring of good workers. I don't think it helped much.

Wouldnt class it as bumper payrises.People who were lowest paid were brought into line with their co workers.Seagate still pay lower hourly rate than shelf stackers earn in Lidl,Sainsburys and tesco.Lets be honest here, Seagate Springtown have been paying shockingly low wages to the majority of operators for years. They had to bring wages into line with other employers in Derry. Why dont they pay everybody the same wage?? Then people would be buzzing.

6%? Dude. My best focal was 2.5% while receiving 5’s and 4’s under the old rating system. Wait a minute. Actually, my best was 10% during the year the 10% pay cut was reversed.

Bonus is always a percentage.Anyone who says this or that amount of hours does not work at Seagate.

"TOP" did the same everywhere, headcount reduced until minimum, but operation still need to sustain with same workload some area loaded with more and more. "TOP" very welcome self resignation to meet budget deduction on the FY19. "TOP" hope all of us continue make the similar success on FY18 for FY19.

Sad. I come here and put up with the irritating advertising (and subsequent slow download speed) purely for the entertainment and fake news spewing from keyboards and touch pads aŕound the globe.

Guess they don't want our business.

Why would you even bother getting credible information on an anonymous board? You'll get what you get and you can either get ticked off and quit, or hang around and do your job.

Ten percent bonus of your annual gross salary. Seven to nine percent of increment.

WD has design centers almost across the darn street from STX in Longmont and Colorado Springs. BTW, they have openings posted for both. Why STX people would not be applying continuously, I don't know. I guess they don't want to work in a better place and earn $50K more a year for the same job. Either that, or WD has already captured the best employees and left the rejects at STX who are happy with their tiny compensation crumbs. Have fun with your raises s---ers!

Just curious, is WD's Denver (or Longmont) facility disc drives or SSD related?

From Glassdoor. Staff engineer avg. salary in Denver. Seagators, you need a 13% average raise just to match what WD pays in the same location. Also, your bonus is way less too. Go ahead...look it up on your own. LOL. Sad. If you work in Denver, perhaps you should consider a change to WD!

STX: $116K

WDC: $132K

Now search for bonuses same grade, same location.

STX: $16K/year

WDC: $25K/year

Unemployment rate of your country is taking into account for your focal increase.

Totally unfair.

@UqoMRv1-1rtr...At last someone telling how it is.I've also heard on good authority that even though the numbers are higher than last announcement and have been better than expected the profit share will be less than previous one.The top people will fill their pockets and whats left will slowly trickle fown the ladder to the rest of us.It goes to show no matter how hard you work and fo the best for the company Seagate will still sh1t on us.

Let me be the one to let you down and decipher the intentional deception with these numbers. #1) The 5% focal is actually normalized to 6 months. That means the real annualized focal increase will be more like 2-2.5%. Considering the annual inflation rate is running at 3% this year, your real wages are STILL dropping. You are still falling behind in real pay even with the increase. You do know the dollar loses 2-3% of value every year don't you? Or are you a complete ignoramus? #2) Not everybody will get the maximum raise. It will be skewed to those who are far below 1 comp ratio. Therefore, if you are currently near a comp ratio of 1, expect more like 1-2% annual increase only. #3) The bonus isn't going to be as huge as you think unless you are in management. Maybe 1 paycheck worth. As you know, Seagate heavily skews the bonus to the top. It's all hype. #4) The bonus in the heyday of the early 2000's DWARFS this bonus by 100+%, even though Seagate is actually posting better numbers now. #5) 50%+ of the bonus pool will likely end up in the pocket of executives. They don't post the real numbers, so this is an opinion.

Is it just Seagate Springtown that holds back 30% of the start of year profit share?? We get 30% held back then we never get it in latter profit share.
