Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Any layoffs coming?

Very little talk here lately on future layoffs. Should I take this as a good thing? Or is there something brewing I should be preparing for?

@ewif. India separation plan format is

Total CTC = X

Total monthly salary (Y) = X/12

Daily salary (Z) = Y/30

Number of days of service. = A

No of days salary to be paid (B) = A/24

Hence separation payment to be paid = Z * B .

WFR for the Shell support employees in the US is 8/31. That is their last day. The over night and afternoon shifts were supposed to end before that, but the new employees haven't been properly trained.

There was no ultimatum about pay, Shell pulled their contract with DXC.

There is no "volunteering" for WFR in the US, that is the same as simply quitting. Which means you will not get Unemployment Insurance, which would start after your Severance ends.

I got my WFR call this morning, so I'd say yes, there are more incoming. Actually kind of a relief not having to be told daily "everyone's at risk every day, no one is safe" anymore. Good luck to the rest of you but I'm not looking back as this ship sinks.

Amazon is hiring remote workers. Start looking folks. DXC is imploding and without a structure for raises. Forget about retaining talent or a good workforce. DXC will just be another Manpower eventually.

I had also heard that mobile, versus 'teleworker' will be targeted next. I'm a mobile worker, so I had an interest in that one. There are not too many of us left in my division, though. Most of our team was moved to Mphasis..at least the ones that didn't take WFR were. They had a choice..move to Mphasis or take WFR. I heard that that happened to several accounts.

I would look elsewhere but I'm within 2 years of retiring, which is why I haven't moved to another job at another company. If I get WFRed, I'll take my EDS pension earlier than expected and find something part time in a totally unrelated field. Or maybe volunteer somewhere.

They want to push payments out a quarter? I’d never agree to that.

Independent Contractors on my America's account were given the ultimatum by 7/23

5% reduction in pay and 100 days(from 75 days) out to get paid, take it or leave.

These days a promotion just means more work and no pay increases. F--- that, leave me at my old job. Since there have been no pay increases for years I am taking the time off during the week to do personal things. My hours always show 40 otherwise I get a nasty email saying I have to have 40 hours.

Every other job I ever had, I got anywhere from 5% , 10% and even 15% increases every year, but DXC management is cheep and we get nothing. Oh we get professional classes, but not the time to take them. Other firms would give you a week off to take a 40 hour class, but DXC expects you do all your work, work of most of India guys that can't debug themselves out of a wet paper bag and take the course.

Don't worry. If you are an unskilled and talentless moron who is being payed a cr@ppy wage, you'll be fine. You will probably even get a promotion (no salary increase of course!)

New targets are put forward in southern Europe to be achieved by end Q3.

However, as several people further down said, there is no point in even discussion this... it has become a normal business and is happening everywhere on a massive scale. People disappear overnight without any warning towards the business and accounts are puling their hair trying to fill the gaps and achieve targets set by the executors from mckinsey... and nobody dares speak out..

There are quite a few new deals coming in.. all fairy-tales sold to clients and no skilled resources left to deliver them... collective madness!

It is better than simply resigning where you get zero weeks severance.

If it works out for a person to volunteer for a WFR then do it. It gets you some change and it can save a person for a period of time.

Most of the people who were talking WFR's have finally now moved out of the organization. No point in looking back or wasting more time on sinking crap.

Who ever said "I am actually looking for a WFR in the September time frame I can volunteer for", what in the US you only get 8 weeks severance.

Yep - don't know if same source - brace yourselves....and no, there will not be more "proof" until it hits.

Put it this way, the share price is going up for a reason.

In late June I heard that in August their were two WFRs planned for the US. My contact believed 8/9 and 8/23 were the targeted dates. I am trying to get a follow up on those dates.

I am actually looking for a WFR in the September time frame I can volunteer for. Hence my interest in staying on top of this.

We'll see.

I got rather stressed this afternoon after a promotion was discussed with no pay rise.

I've realised now it's not worth getting stressed and I just need to start laughing. :-)

I hope things improve at DXC but I'll try not to let anything stress me.

I'm very sorry to see people made redundant, it's not right.

Calling all home and mobile workers - just to let you know, we're ever so sorry but you're just not needed anymore....

What do you know, if you have real news about this, let us know when this going to happen?

Of course mobile and home workers are on the way out, because of the "dxc digital transformation centers" are the new model that is being used.

Get out as soon as you can before it ruins your career!!

The problem is we don't near directly about a layoff till kit happens to a friend , coworker or though the grape vine.

Best there will be more out sourcing of jobs to our vendors as soon as the numbers are released.

Think about it, send our people to a vendor kind of decreases our leverage with that vendor, if we threaten to leave say xxx for another storage vendor, then all the people sent to vendor xxx goes with them and we are short staffed.

ML your and a--, lets right source the CEO and the NEO's to a lower cost country and save millions!!!

I know for a fact that there are two rounds in the US for August. They’re over subscribed meaning more people volunteered for WFR than they had slots to accommodate.

OF course layoffs or out sourcing of CSC / DXC internal resources to our vendors is the new way of life.

Once these new DXC Digital Transformation Centers start bringing in young cheap talent, all the older , experienced employee's will be gone.

I still remember coming into IT fresh out of school , ready to change the world with "DXC Digital Transformation" that I learned in all my school classes. Only to find companies are not ready to spend the money on IT, but want to spend the money where the core business is.

DXC Digital Transformation as DXC defines it is same as when I came out of school 30 years ago. The concept is the same, reengineer and bring everything together. Hmmm sounds like one large database that interrelates the whole business. Like that's happening :(

From a True DBA , Data Modeling . no duplicate data

There is certainly another round coming for all AMS accounts and resources. It will impact US and other countries supporting AMS accounts. It will hit this quarter.

Sometimes only rumors here - sometimes just a wild guess but sometimes real and genuine fact. But ALWAYS have your resume ready and out there if you are employed at this scum company. Trust nothing they say EVER.
