lets say DXC lays you off and then offers you a position for less money and lower title. Would you take it ?

"Look for something new. You are more valuable in the open market than you realise." it's always easier to look for a job , interview when you already have a job.
Your an a$$ if you don't take a paying job with benefits and then look for a better job while having that. If I took a lower paying job, I'd work a lot less than I do now, put my 40 hours in. Part of that 40 hours would be looking for a job while getting paid.
I think it's worth bearing in mind that, at this late stage in the life of DXC, you were not made redundant because you were not valuable. On the contrary, you will find that your experience in HPE/CSC gives you capabilities beyond the dreams of most organisations.
Look for something new. You are more valuable in the open market than you realise.
As part of being offered a WFR the fine print says that one cannot work for a DXC-related entity for a period of 12 months as an employee or contractor, unless approval is granted by bigwigs in HR. So the question becomes why would someone with ethics even contemplate being rehired by DXC which is intent on cutting its employees?
I could think of better use of time ... working in retail, becoming a politician or seek work with DXC's competitors.
That's like asking if you would remarry the ex who cheated on you before . There is no guarantee that they would not do it again . Seriously ... have some pride and dignity in yourself ... no way would I ever come back to company . It never learned from its mistakes in the first place and I am worth better and more than to be treated in such a vile manner
I am happy to be out finally - Nope, I will never come back! Even not for a bigger salary. Money is not really making you happy, but job satisfaction takes you already a long way.
I am too young to let my ambition die, but to old to let a company treat me with so little respect.
I suppose for the sake of the mortgage, families and children at further ed., then they may consider it to ensure bills are paid whilst proactively seeking employment elsewhere. But your mood and self esteem would take a hit as you would know you are the most experienced person that is now held in low regards.
This is not a family-run company where the guys at the top are also making sacrifices just as much as you. No, those millionaires are asset stripping and awarding themselves bonuses and stock options that would make your eyes water.
That $6.5 billion revenue is limping along and even with the mergers and acquisitions, its not visibly injecting anything to boost growth or revenue. If the bionic sweat-shop of 2020 still can't hit that fantasy prediction of $22 Billion in revenues, then the used-car dealers at the top will be the first to bail with their golden parachutes, leaving everyone else to hit the ground like a dart.
Ask them to give you your WFR entitlement first, leave the company and then start a new employment with the company in your lesser lower paid role. The role will be approved so 100% they can do this. However it’s a lot of paperwork so it’s at your managers discretion.
Say that your making me take lower so compensate me for it.
If there is nothing else take the job - dont cut your nose ... BUT keep looking to move
DXC is a walking corpse
Adopt a similar philosophy to the officers of the Co.
- look after yourself, if DXC benefits too that is good luck not good judgement
My dear analyst, can you please explain more about this....
Which type of roles?
Which location?
Which roles are migrating? Senior role and junior role?
how much package will reduce?
Is there any rule?
If u reduce/agree then any spot benefits?
Will this happens after year performance ratings or before?
HR initiative or manager initiative?
DXC already lost the org hierarchy? So trying with appraisal cycle?
Larry... lorry can't run with two wheels, same should understand... Dxc need people..if you feel over strength then remove bulkly
lol no way. go work some place else that doesn't treat you like a piece of shet
To “Self respect has nothing to do with it”. Well actually it does and your rant proves you have none. If you are willing to prostitute yourself back to ANY company that treats you like trash puts you in the same category as the average gutter wh--e.
And if you really are so bad off that you have to stoop to this level, you need some serious life counseling.
whats to say you get a pay cut and then next year you get CR?
One needs to think that your salary determines your redundancy.
Also, the new terms and conditions might be worse than your existing contract?
For me, if it meant I could do NO work at all, the answer would be YES - I'm already on sh*t terms and salary anyway .
If you have SKILLS KNOWLEDGE EXPERIENCE you are valuable to someone...and they are willing to pay for it.....you never go DOWN in pay scale, always UP...only a MORON would do otherwise...like getting gang raped in jail and then saying "Do it again!"....
Of course I would take it, a salary to pay bill's, health insurance and I would keep looking for another job like I have been for a while.
** ************** Your STUPID if you didn't , whos going to pay the rent/mortgage your medical bill's and feed your family with no income at all? Self respect has nothing to do with it, it's feeding and taking care of the family. And anyone that says otherwise is an a$$
I haven't found a position because I am over 55, don't want to work in another state, or country. Don't want to be on call 24 by 7. Want a job relatively close to home, so I don't need to drive, then take a train and then walk a few miles. Either work from home or drive 30 minutes or less.
This question assumes that the applicant has served the compulsory 12 month period in which they cannot work for any DXC company or subsidiary. If that is correct then why apply to work with the sinking ship if they will offer a sh--e pay cut?
I wouldn't have my old job back for more money. There are far better places to work than DXC
If no job..take it. Keep looking for another job.
In the meanwhile do as little as you can.. so when the weasle manager smiling and thinks has screwed you.. you know beibg paid for delivering minimum.
The fact even posted this shows how rotten DXC truly is.
I've been gone a few months now. I wouldn't accept a position in DXC for double what they used to pay me.
Not unless you have no self respect. This would be akin to, “thank you sir, may I please have another?”
Fvk no ! DXC can shove that job up their azz
Nope nope nope nope!
Nah, I'll take my WFR check with me and look for a better place
No, there are much better alternatives out there.
