Rolling Updates for Week of 4/30/18

If next week as as bad as it appears across the globe this is the forum to post who took a hit as the week plays out.

So far I know MP is taking huge cut including the Brain trust working on Sentience. On Friday the leader of Connected Enterprise was shown the door.

And personally funded moving expenses are no longer tax deductible.

More communication is coming on hub strategy at least for Corporate functions. IT has started already. Sentience team told to relocate on their own money from MP to Atlanta. Other IT teams will be told over the course of a year where their hub is. And SLP Mexico isn't going to be an IT hub so even low cost labor will loose jobs

If you are in IT you should be asking your boss where your HUB will be and what the deadline is so you can plan in advance. Sentience got 60 days. Not much time

@5hwx

Have they told you where you will work from?

As a fellow 50+ RIFF'r I'm following the possibility of finding work with the spun business.

Was given 60 days a couple weeks ago.

Confirmed MASSIVE reductions this week in Engineering and IT. Entire groups told 60 days to find a job or you are out. I can say i've never seen this many in one week and it is global.

No -zlf it happened. I was told I am being pushed to HOMES even though I have never in my 20 years with Honeywell worked with Homes products or people. I was told I have no choice and if I decline Honeywell will treat it as a resignation therefore no severance.

The Corporate functions are being told in rolling fashion. Finance should be soon. Then the centralized other functions

As this finishes then the HONEYWELL cuts will start as Darius said there will be no stranded costs!! Since 20% is spinning off you should expect at least 20-25% cuts, or I mean efficiency improvements

Homes Spin is live October 1 so Honeywell cuts should be in 4th quarter

No updates? Was it all just bluster again? No mass cull as is always speculated, just lots of small, departmental rifs.

Honeywell is a late player in an increasingly crowded field of companies offering industrial internet software of various kinds - in different market niches. The entrants include big cloud suppliers like Amazon, Microsoft and Google; major business software companies like Oracle, SAP, IBM and SAS Institute; Honeywell's industrial peers such as Siemens, GE Digital and ABB; and start-ups like C3 IoT, Uptake and FogHorn Systems.

The wave two axe fell in our group the end of last week. Wave 3 coming in 8 weeks.

rci - I'm very involved in Honeyhells Software development and I can tell you they say one thing and do another. Trust in the fact that a "multiplier" in honeywell is nothing outside of Honeywell. Honeywell will never attract talent from Microsoft, Google or Apple based in reputation alone. If they do successfully attract real talent (very rare) from one of those companies their life span at Honeywell is usually 12 months tops before they see it is not what was promised and get out of dodge.

Then add they would need to move to a hub, make less base salary and give up a nice bonus and stock options with a real software company.

The multiplier program is one of the biggest jokes in Hon.

The only thing Honeywell management can be top 10 at is, off-shoring jobs and hanging customers out to dry. That's all they know.

as usual just look at GE today to see honeywell's future...

hire a bunch of GE execs.. get GE results.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/19/business/ge-digital-ambitions.html

.....

read this article carefully...."become a top 10 software company"... sound familiar?

......

now we get to see if those software "multipliers" are really as smart as advertised. will they stay or run?
