Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

OKC location is closing by 6/39/2018

The OKC location is set for sell if it's not already sold and the whole call center will be outsourced to a 3rd party company located in Dallas. The management is still lying about it and telling people that the moving boxes they are distributing are for moving to another side of the building. Guys face the reality and start looking for other jobs.

Seagate wont be able to subpoena anyone.Dont be an idiot. The reason why is because no crime has been committed.Someone bragging that theyve done something isnt a crime. There is no proof !!Also all comments are anonymous. So get your d--k out of Seagates as and stop being a little b1tch when someone says something bad about seagate.

I agree. You would think they would realize by this point in their life that none of us are interested in what they have to say. But they just keep blowing air out their hole like farts in the car.

i thought wafers were given only at sunday church? subpoenas are for the movies. In real life seagate doesnt care if you steal no one ever has got fired or caught doing wrong. Look at all the executives. still here.

ndgg - doesn't really matter the context does it? The subpoena machinery will occur no matter what the minute someone claims they are sabotaging the company,

mdrj, don't get your undies in a bundle. Most of the so-called "Seagate employees" posting negativity on this board are either bored WDC employees or Russian trolls. They get a hard-on everytime someone like you replies to their sick post.

Cheers.

mdfe - Looking up the ethics hotline is not rocket science for any employee (well maybe it's a bit more sophisticated than your ability.) I agree with lesb that any deliberate act to sabotage is a very stupid decision and affects workers more than it ever will the executives. Most here have gripes with the company but most don't have that level of hatred in their heart. BTW, I suspect STX already has a subpoena in process to find out your identity. If you truly are sabotaging wafers, your own words just got you in big trouble. I suspect you are just a little man looking to make noise to feel better.

: @SSh2p9u-lzdm....You are not a manager or have any power and youre just here for amusement yet you have all the contact info for seagate ethics line conveniently handy.I dont damage products but i wont condemn anyone does.Seagate treat 90% of operators like crap and if someone is angry and underpaid then human nature dictates revenge.

I'm not a manager, I have no power at Seagate and I read this site for entertainment mostly and my own insecurities, yet when I read about people purposefully hurting Seagate I get pissed. Seagate is far from perfect but doing this f---ed up. Each wafer could be $ in all of our pockets or to make Seagate better. I'm calling the ethics hotline, but I have no details, so anyone who has seen this first hand, knows names, I suggest you call too. I have worked in many factories and Seagate is by far one of the better companies even when it has economic troubles so I want these losers out of the company.

BlackHolesMatter_DoYou....I will never work hard for seagate. If they pay low money then they get low output from their employees. You seem to take it personally when someone is negative about seagate.Im guessing seagate is your social life as well your work life.No human communication without seagate?? I will do as little as i can and cause as much damage as i can in seagate.Dont take it personally.

LOL @ the little complainers.

I guess the fact that i have been with Seagate for 10 years and that it has been Very lucrative for me has no bearing on this conversation what so ever, eh? Only your sorryass little opinion matters, eh? Not to me it doesn't.

I personally could care less where you work. I simply suggest that maybe it is time for you to find your true calling. I'm pretty sure no one is forcing you to stay at Seagate.

If you are so smart and capable, you should be able to go anywhere and work. Well? Man-up. Leave.

Never mind about @SSh2p9u-beom. He's just a professional troller who attempts to insult anyone posting a negative comment about Seagate. His presence here is an indication that the word is out that Seagate is not where you want to be for a long-term lucrative career.

@SSh2p9u-beom..Who mentioned burger king being their dream job?? Maybe you are one of those people that likes being paid crap money.Or do you think people should just be grateful that theyre working for such a fantastic company like seagate.Pay poor wages and you get poor effort.Simple equation.

Huh. That's odd. I like my wage. Maybe you (5ekg) should checkout Burger King. I hear they're hiring drop outs for the going wage. I guess if that's your idea of a dream job, then you should go for it dude. You can do it. Just dream big and make it happen.

1ugl,

So what I hear you say is, you can't figure out why you are getting paid sub-standard wages for doing substandard work.

You might want to to take your high school equivalent degree to the nearest Burger King and earn some REAL money $$$. It's obvious your talents are being wasted at Seagate, and besides, it's likely somebody more deserving would love to have your pay and bi-annual bonus cash.

I'd like to say "good luck", but I let's just say "good riddance". LOL.

@SSh2p9u-1ugl.if seagate want employees to put in more effort then they need to pay better wages.I will bash them all i want and do a half-a$$ed job as long as they keep paying under market wages.

LOL, you guys are arguing with a fake news troll, probably from WD or maybe even russia.

Wake-up and smell the borscht. Seagate sales are going thru the roof and the report coming out for current quarter is going rock your world. The last thing management will do is shoot itself in the foot right when it needs to be firing on 8 cylinders. OKC is going to be with us for a good long while.

Or you can believe fake "Sr. Manager" Dom147G and leave your job for something greener elsewhere.

Doubt it. All HR Central support sits there. I had to call there to get benefits help a few times this year. Would be a major change requiring a huge transition lead time.

I doubt that.......they just put a lot of effort in training new people......i don't believe they will close......and you guys need 2 quit bashing Seagate.......if u don't like it......leave......there are other people who would love to have this kind of opportunity.......and they will put the effort in that is necessary.......i know there are people there who do try hard and provide a good service......in the end a company is only as good as the employees that work there......u don't like it.....leave.....quit bashing

You clearly don't get it. It's no longer a matter of service quality and the management only wants a breathing cheap voice on the end reading scripted responses.

The OKC site is where the phone Technical Support is for all hard disk drives. How could they possibly move the support to Dallas, TX? There is no way they could train another team of people in so little time on everything the OKC reps support. Could it be possible that they will still keep a small team for customer support and only relocate them to a smaller location in OKC?

I have been a Sr manager for over 12 years at Seagate in both OKC and Longmont.. my sources in California confirmed that ALL departments will be moved to TX. NOTHING will stay in OKC. I left seagate over 9 months ago but I still have contacts with people working there . I started my small business and I can't be happier. I should've left a long time ago. Good luck everyone
