Going back to patient care. It's not perfect, but I would rather be physically exhausted and feel like I accomplished something, than be mentally exhausted and feel like I am at the mercy of big insurance.i 'll now many had a positive experience here, but for me it was turmoil
I cannot imagine doing anything else
If you have a BSN, you can work as a school nurse. Pay is much lower but hours and benefits are good.
I’ve been a nurse all my adult life. I don’t know how to do anything else, but I wish I did! Any ideas?
That's why 1/3 of us leave the field and do something else. The burnout is real.
Extremely burned and have been for a long while. I often ask myself "what was I thinking?"
I have been a nurse for > 30 years and I do enjoy nursing but it is a tough job to do 5 days a week. Three twelves are better for me and gives me days to regroup.
I left 8 months ago and went back to my “love and passion “ Cardiac devices. Back in love with nursing! Year # 37 for me! Humana s---ed the life and passion from me! If you didn’t get cut I highly advise leaving ASAP!
@fcg I shuffle paperwork and I hate it

Most (but not all) of us are nurses cause we like to care for others. This is our biggest gift and our biggest flaw - so, you really cannot chose it as a career, you get born into it.
Still does a trick for me... The best ways to a man's heart is through the groin (you'd need some Cath skills here)...
