Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

So now what’s the process?

Do we log in at normal time and make calls or log in just before 945 CST and go right into the meeting? Will they have us finish out the day? Week? Or how does this work?

@RDS8b6f-tkb - Great advice, but not all of us are nurses.

When we on boarded, we were told the same thing, but the business model changed, and it may have been true then, but what’s gone on the past year, the on boarding folks wouldn’t have experienced....they were truthful, and, if asked now, I’m sure they would have different answers

Dear "my husband is disabled". Please take heart. You may try other avenues such as Workman's Comp, other insurance companies. Look up Insurance Physicals, Case Management, Telephonic Case Management. Case Management is the cutting edge. Unless you like floor nursing, you will find a lot of alternatives. Talk to people who have left and see what they have done and some of them may get bonuses for referring you. Things have changed if you have been in Humana any length of time. Many companies now have similar roles. I have had way too many friends who have left Humana and 100% have reported being happier and more content away from Humana. You will find your place. Don't settle for "floor nursing" if that is not what you want to do. One thing you did get from Humana is a great Case Management resume. I will especially keep you and your family in my prayers today. Be strong. You made it this far. Perhaps better things are just around the corner.

You all know there is more to nursing than working on the floor, right? I’ve worked three totally different jobs after coming out of the hospital. Have faith in yourself and be open minded, there are a lot of things to do. This wasn’t the only game in town.

I wanted to retire here too. Given so much false hopes & bad information in onboarding makes me sick to think back on it. But this too shall pass & we are strong.

OP. I remember it was asked in Onboarding, What is the retention like at Humana?" And the "consultant" responded , "Everyone I trained with is still with Humana, except a couple who only left because they retired." I too thought I had landed a job I could retire from. She was either delusional, in denial, flat out lying or has had a very different experience than I have with this company. I am so sorry. I hope you find something better.

I received my email today. I am only one employed as my husband is disabled. I am physically ill thinking about going back to floor nursing. What ever happened to the saying when they hired us "Welcome to the last job you will have" I was hoping for a lasting future with Humana. I loved my job and my co-workers and my coaches. I am really sad about this. But when one door closes another will open. I feel for my members who look forward to my monthly calls.

Yep. I plan to log in, too. Attend the mtg & start thinking of the future. Sole breadwinner here. I'm physically unable to go back to floor nursing & 12 hr. shifts. Who wants to hire a 60 yo? SMH

Last time they did cuts they gave people option to go home after the call. They were notified Thursday and expected to work Friday. I'm logging in at regular start time too.

My plan is to log in as usual at 9 and make calls. If they want us to deviate from that, that would be their responsibility to relay it.
