All Managers are like lame ducks on the payrolls of the company

Skilled workers are hard to find. That is why idots are promoted to management. :-)

Brawn is paid more, brain paid less.

Managers talk about standardisation across the estate, no customization. They lost hundreds of millions of dollars because of bafoon thinking that one size fits all.

Managers are a bunch of crooks n bastards who I pray will get their comeuppance for destroying the lives of so many hard working staff.

DXC is not "democratic" but instead "autocratic". With its head office in the USA, wonder if all US companies function in the same way. It would be a positive step to restrict such autocratic companies worldwide, for the sake of mankind.

Managers at ALL levels should be accountable.

Management accountability is the expectation that managers are responsible for the quality and timeliness of program performance, increasing productivity, controlling costs and mitigating adverse aspects of agency operations, and. assuring that programs are managed with integrity and in compliance with applicable law. If the standards by which performance is to be measured aren't well-conceived and clear, how can managers hope to hold people accountable to high levels of productivity? ... If these objectives are meaningful and measurable, then managing becomes a great deal easier - a rational not emotional process. THERE ARE NO STANDARDS at DXC.

DXC has the managers it deserves. They wouldn't survive 5 minutes in the real world and they know it, which is why they are clinging on for as long as it takes. :-P

@6xcr

Who magically gets the information to payroll or sets up the contract and recruits and allocates the engineers that get paid for working on the contracts?

Would you like me to draw you a picture?

I'm with @5yaz

You complain of him/her calling people bovine then say managers are pussies. Many engineers can't function as sentient beings outside of their desk space. I'd have chosen "ovine" as my description.

I would love to hear how they would propose to organise anything from contracts down to hovering without this seemingly unnecessary layer that they resent so much.

Grunt once if you disagree

@PK0x5zX-5yaz : why would you resort to name-calling e.g. bovine.

its the same managers that have appointed such so-called "bovine" staff ?

.. again the manager must be blamed for their faults.

I fully agree with the OP.

the managers in dxc are just like pu.ss.ies no responsibility and no reason.

@PK0x5zX-5yaz : none of this is true, DXC managers dont hand down any work

Nor are they really responsible for payment of salary which is processed by payroll dept and earned by technical staff

seems you are stupid manager yourself with some writing skills so you keep writing crap to fool the rest of the people.

the managers are the ones absorbing a bulk of the revenue as salary without any meaningful output except threatening employees with job loss thereby getting a chance to keep their jobs and fat salary.

as someone has rightfully mentioned .. managers are just pimps ..

Keep believing that all that is wrong with this company is due to ex EDS people in general and your immediate management in particular if it makes you feel better. You are absolutely wrong but craic on, it bothers me not. I could tell you a hundred tales about the crass stupidity of HP people, particularly sales spivs, but I won’t.

You may think the world would revolve more smoothly without the middle an but the fact is 90% of technical staff are too bovine to put in front of a customer with any confidence at all that they won’t just sit there and dribble down their Guardians of the galaxy t-shirt or say something compromising and stupid. You need management to handle simple things like getting you paid and supplying you with a pipeline of work to get your sausage like, leaden fingers into as you stare past your Neanderthal brows at the pretty lights on the screen in front of you.

Insulted? I hope so because I do by some of the arrant nonsense being posted here by people that really should know better.

If you want a moan about DXC fine but aim at those in L1 and L2 positions. Everyone else is just doing what their jobs dictate they have to do in as humanly a way as they can.

Whether EDS or not, a manager is a culprit by virtue of his designation. No more than a P.I.M.P. selling the employees services to feed his stomach.

I love this guy who keeps banging on about ex-EDS people being the issue. Haha - that was 4 companies ago. Does he really think there are that many ex-EDS people left?? On our account 90%+ of ex-EDS have been WFRed in the last 5 years

Agreed there are useless managers, who are given targets to reduce people and they do NOT understand the services business - most of them are legacy EDS cronies.

Once we get rid of the legacy EDS cronies - there may be some options to survive.

Bionics program - which idiot invented it (alas an EDS crony )

Managers just blame the workers when the going gets tough. Time to wear another watch.
