Cloud is killing DXC

The computer service/outsourcing business is dying a slow death. It is being killed by cloud services and standardized business software available at very low cost to anyone with an internet connection. Businesses no longer need custom software and people to support it, and what support they do need can be provided more cheaply in Asia and Eastern Europe as broadband connections circle the globe. CSC, DXC, EDS, HPE, and all the other computer service/outsourcing shops will slowly die.

Nothing CSC buys ever comes to anything. If you look back at all of the acquisitions over the years, its all the damned same.

Its just revenue acquisition, never anything radical like buying pieces of a bigger thing and turning them into a huge offering.

Most of the acquisitions totally vanish with not a trace left, well, apart from ongoing court cases anyway.

You missed my point about the 2013 acquisition of ServiceMesh back in 2013. It turned out to be fraudulent, which landed some Australian banking executives in jail. CSC (now DXC) is still in court with Eric Pulier over this deception. It was typical sheer CSC-like disaster under Lawrie leadership.

Hushon's comments are mere corporate-speak, nothing tangible came from that "investment".

When CSC announced its acquisition of ServiceMesh in late October 2013, the company said it viewed the deal as a strategic move to enable CSC to continue its transformation into a next-generation IT company with increased cloud migration capabilities.

"With ServiceMesh, we will empower an ecosystem of enterprise software providers by lowering the friction for companies to execute a multi-vendor hybrid cloud strategy while maintaining central governance, policy, and administration,” CSC chief technology officer, Dan Hushon, said upon the announcement.

“Bringing ServiceMesh and CSC together creates a true leadership position in IT transformation,” said Pulier at the time.
