Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Stock

COP is in serious trouble. Any upward movement is immediately driven down by desperate sellers giving up and trying to minimize losses. Major changes need to happen ASAP before ELT drives this company into the ground.

COP Culture will not allow them to become efficient enough to execute as an EOG or PXD. It is very easy to grow an organization but difficult to shrink one a eliminate bureaucracy.

@OgYIbw4-1mmj: Hope is not an investment strategy.

@1xyh: I will add, the ELT are flailing while COP is in a downward spiral and their message is faulty and not believed!

As a semi retired engineer, I sold my last COP shares that were given to me (I earned those shares). My goal has been to buy quality stock that give good dividends i.e. CVX, RDS-B, RDS-A, XOM BP and won't go broke while feeling around in the dark trying to determine what next! Also that has a good game plan on next moves and a real discovery record!

Who knows if COP will be around 18 months from now! Good luck to all you whom are working for this failing company!

COP may be dead money. COP has not been able to communicate why an E&P investor would want to invest in COP. If investors want the global upstream & downstream diversification of a major integrated company, there are preferred alternatives: XOM, CVX, TOT, BP, RDS... If investors want pure-play E&P exposure, there are preferred alternatives: EOG, PXD.... Am having difficulty identifying what unique investment opportunity/potential COP offers. This is not criticism....there are preferred alternatives.

Dumb statement, all you have to do is look at trading volume to see that this statement is false!
