I am 100% in agreement with this article as I have seen how productivity decreased after transitioning to open plan offices
Has any of you had any positive experiences with open plan offices?
It depends on the type of work you do. I have had it work well for some projects where we were in constant discussion with each other...but if you are working with people from offsite or independent work..its a no go.

At the time of deletion the hit ratio between BOA/AAPL was 4/1. Which clearly tells me not only do they look at it but they will try to censor anything related to the company. There was nothing offensive or inappropriate about the post.

I heard the open plan is supposed to have a "library" space with no talking allowed - I would love that... Right now I am in a regular office with cubicles surrounded by people who are on the phone all day, sometimes on speaker phone, sometimes multiples echoing on the same call on speaker phone.. I need quiet to work.
I was much more productive at home.. but if I could utilize the library space, it would make my day less hellish.

Apple VP's and employees love it because they are mostly Asian, foreign, or just some minority that are just thrilled to get the high paying jobs! They will love anything and of course, since they are minorities or affirmative action diversity candidates, productivity is not important.
It’s horrible. People loud on the phone. People eating stinky food at their desks. No privacy. It s---s....
I'm in one and love it. It was a little strange at first but with white noise it's fine. Loud talkers can be difficult. There are plenty of huddle rooms and private office quarters to go into if needed.
