Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

When do the layoff recruiters call you?

Or we call them? Is it before or after the 60 days are up?

It would be informative to know if anyone who lost their jobs before actually got “re-absorbed” or rehired by Humana?

Poster, so well said !!!

I think it's hard for Humana to see that our skills would transfer outside of HAH. Many employers are so stuck on what they feel are role requirements and will only consider those who have all the requirements. They don't give us credit for being able to quickly adapt to new skills and challenges!

That is so true and proven!

I don't think anyone was denigrating those who are stressed out. We all have every right to be stressed and to voice that stress. Many of us are frustrated with the folks who do nothing but bash Humana, call the leaders evil yet complain that they may lose their jobs. They are the ones who bring down their team. Negativity isn't a coping skill! It's a self-defeating skill! Someone else said it well, negativity breads negativity! Sad that those who think Humana leaders are only out to screw us, will keep their jobs over those who appreciate what they have here.

You contact them before once you receive notice you are laid off. Sadly I feel that Humana does not care if you find a job with them or not. I was in very first round of layoffs, had great evals, have a BSW, and did not get any job offers. I even said I would lower my salary, but that did not seem to make a difference either, maybe they think you will be very unhappy with a lower salary. The good news is I found another job and started one week before my severance ran out. The salary in my new job is only slightly less than Humana's salary. So to all of you good luck, I know it is hard but try to be optimistic, the one thing I kept telling myself is that it had got so bad at Humana that at least I wasn't leaving I place I liked to love. I just wanted to say something to another poster who was denigrating to people who were getting stressed out over losing theirs jobs..that everyone is in different financial situations and for some they only have one household income and may be supporting young children and it IS a big deal to lose your only source of income. Good luck to you all, I feel for you!
