Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

IMPORTANT!!! DONT JOIN DXC.. EXIT QUICKLY.. its a HIRE and more FIRE company till 2020.

Read completely

AVOID DXC ! Dont join or join at your own risk.

They are hiring now to fire you later. Almost 48% of the staff is to be fired (reduced) is by 2020. So this is a long drawn process where all employees will be kept standing on pins. Its definitely not worthwhile for the employee to join this company and then keep thinking when s/he will be fired.

This applies to DXC centers in India, Malaysia and Philippines as well. Approx 50% staff rejig, sooner or later, looking for cheap labor. Best is to avoid such a company, especially when thy declared that there will be no salary raises/hikes and no bonuses declared in the coming future.

The bottom line target is removal of up to 50% of the former HPE staff worldwide by March 2018, while hiring fresh blood (1 hire for every 2-3 fires). New hires will be churned (replaced) every 6 months to 1 year. Better not to join this company, if you are already an employee in DXC, better start your job search TODAY!

(They actively pursue you and then lay you off. Some had multiple offers from former HPE who actively pursued candidates to join... Less than 6 months they were given notice while still on probation). It is best to stay away from DXC. Bad news is that if you have completed 5+ years you too are likely to be fired soon. DXC is looking for cheap labor only.

Watch out for April 24th. May 2017 firing dates are 15th and 22nd May 2017.

DXC policy is to eventually get rid of the legacy HPE staff and bring in new persons whether or not they fit the role, so legacy HPE staff BEWARE, you will be targeted soon.

While several companies are offering 1 months worth salary (CTC) for each year of service as additional compensation apart from the notice period, DXC if giving nothing to employees.

As per Nefkins' coffee talk takeaways, the middle level management (a.k.a service delivery managers) and 10+ years persons are the next going to be hit starting Aug/Sep 2017. Oldies will now become desperate to keep their heads above water.

Its not about people roaming at cafeteria or the ones working from home . Too many changes in senior management in recent years ( past 5 years ) and change in strategies frequently forced customers to think about alternate options. When there are no new labels companies only focus is cost cutting nothing else.

Just changes something from one of the post and it's true in India....

Even the experienced employess dont have a clue of what they do... They are roaming all over the place thinking that this is an extension of home... most of the guys n gals just hanging out near the cafeteria and garden in shorts... hardly come to office....always doing "WORK FOR HOME"

Their home type attitude has spoiled the company in the last 5-10 years.

The new joinees (feshers) after college dont have a clue of what an IT company does. They are roaming all over the place thinking that this is an extension of college. most of the guys n gals just hanging out near the cafeteria and garden in shorts and sneakers does not look professional.

Their college type attitude has spoiled the company in the last 1 - 2 years.

Best thing i ever did was leave hpe. The place is a joke by and large anyway. Full of lazy and incompetence dregs. Not everyone is like that and many are hard working but a lot are not and enough to effect the image of the place. Got a really good severance payout almost two years ago and havent looked back. there hr dept was very good in dealing with my batch of wfrs. I have to admit. two years later i am working now in landscaping and gardening and luv the outdoors.( I did do IT for 18 months after hp but got bored same crap different colour) Pay is good also. Not quite as good as it but your hours are good, no stress, fun and u get fit and vitiamn c in the sun !!. point is there ia life after wfr hp. Just have to find it whereever it be it or something else. Good luck to you all.

@3svf

Absolutely spot on.

I got transferred from my boss of many years to a clown in an offshore location. Spoke with him exactly once in 14 months - he even farmed out his performance reviews. That was the first year I had ever received a performance review below the top tier in over 20 years.

The day after that transfer, I hit the job market. Found something else with a 20% bump in pay, 60% cheaper benefits that covered more, better 401k matching, and better work/life balance. To say I jumped at the opportunity would be a huge understatement.

The client I was working for was very upset - they had a huge global implementation that I was a key resource on - I was a directly billed FTE, with at least a further 2-3 year engagement. Guaranteed profit for HPES.

I've stayed in touch with the client Project Manager (I still help them out with history/advice) and since I left they have now missed multiple milestones because they still haven't been assigned a replacement for me that can do the job. The penalties HPE/DXC are paying for missing those milestones are way way way more than any salary I made.

Guaranteed profit + Happy Client now Significant Losses + Pissed off client who probably won't renew. That's the way to run a business...

GETC - All fun ...

Delivery / middle level management - All HR and CATW

GETC India - team that never worked, always roaming around the campus and partying on weekends.

Reporting team - members never comes to the office and never send reports unless you demand it (this could just be automated but nobody does it)

Service management teams - Incident (critical, situation), change and problem, capacity, shift management team host just 1 skype call in a week per customer (assigned 2 -3 customers to be handled)

NGDM team - nobody knows whats going on but they keep roaming from campus to campus and pretend to be doing a lot of work/coaching etc. In fact they just asked people to join their skype calls and took screenshots. Nothing serious here when there is no work to be done.

OSL team - this was for time tracking, but actually just time pass.

Delivery / middle level management : just come to office and chat around , smoke cigarettes, etc and enter CATW hours on behalf of the engineers. They dont attend any customer delivery calls, just HR related work. they are just pimps of the engineers.

To "stop calling it Dixie", you are either part of the "retained for now" or "HR"... in case you have not done any checks and balances what's really going on out there with customers. The customers have been held hostages for years!!! In some cases, the words from the mouth of the AE as in account executive when SLA's are missed.. don't worry we just pay the penalties!! Theses are the L4 L5 now got promotions and kept their jobs! Imagine a full blown press release the unthetical conduct on this company??😳

@3zrf

Nonsense. I've known plenty of directly billable people making a good margin be made redundant. People with a top appraisal rating have also been given the boot. There is no reward for 'going the extra mile' or working long hours.

You have to remember that common business sense does not prevail at the senior exec level. Most clients are locked in long term deals that they can't get out of, so the DXC execs don't really care if there is a delay or two in a deployment etc. They'll be long gone with their epic bonuses. This is all about greed and short termism, nothing else. They simply do not care how the business looks in say three years. They have no skill to actually get new business through the door, so it's a case of squeeze what they have to breaking point to prop the share price up.

It makes no diffference how hard you work or how good you are, you're just a number on a spreadsheet. If you don't fit the model you're gone.

Dear @MXAYQpJ-3zrf

IT industry has no lawys or can be questioned. I suggest watchif company is ready to pay for 3 months and releave. choose that option if you are sure that you will not get option to get selected in any other project or Verticles, this will save your time energy to concentrate on the next.

Hello @MXAYQpJ-1ric and others complaining here. If you are being axed it is either

You aren't working (be true to yourself and compare to how much you worked in previous organisations).

Or you and you manager aren't in the best of terms.

Now the amount of work maybe less because of the lack of work itself(or an individual not doing much work).Due bad policies in HPE about showing more FTE in projects (rather than rewarding the already existing ones in the project) with not so much work and ramp ups leading up to this sudden DXC axe-being of Employees.

Adding to that your manager and you might not be in the best of terms- how much ever your manager will deny saying it's come from above him , HR decisions and all those stupid excuses. Your manager is aware of everything and plays a vital role in who gets the axe. How can the company remove a person who is a vital link in the project (assuming his work CANNOT be done by anyone else ). The new company doesn't want to risk projects by doing so. Your manager can also give your name because he feels your salary bracket is not in line with the amount of work you do (or he / your lead is doing some state-ism politics - if you know which state talking about).

Dear fellow D--X--C employees, i need your help ,

At the time of issuing the separation letter , my manager said that i will be getting 3 months salary + severance pay even if i quit the company tomorrow .

But , the official notice period mentioned in the separation letter is 3 months. In case if i am eligible to get 3 months salary at the time FF settlement , there is no point to go to office .. Can anyone came across the similar situation ?

In case if i get the 3 months salary and quit the company immediately , what will be the impact?

i'm really depressed and i need your guidance now .

I am an employee of DXC , only HP ES employees have been given notices this time . No one knows the real number , approximately 400 have been given notice and they are non billable or their billability is about to end . Avoid giving comments like i want to be fired but they r not firing me it demoralizes the ones who are in tough position. If you feel bad about your company please quit n stop making drama . Many are breadwinners for their family understand that .most of them are freshers who worked only 6 months n this company. Your suggestions and advise wont help them . Very few cos recruit freshers n the ppl who have more exp ( those who earn more than 10 lakhs ) . This should create awareness among ppl who are still sticking to that company .IT companies dont have unions so no one knows whats happening inside really. At the same time companies are members of NASSCOM , CII , FICCI , ASSOCHAM etc.Voice out for your colleagues if you get chance

Guys..it's not just India. It's the same in US too. During this transition from HPe to DXC, they waited to let go people after moving to DXC so they don't have to pay severance packages for people working in HPe for 10+ yrs.

When i joined this company a decade age, it was a pride to carry the logo on your T-Shirt, Bag, ID card. People used to respect the brand. Inspite of being paid less than the market, i was an honor to work @ HP. i left HP last year with bad experience from bad sr.managemt. Now looking at the situation. see few of my friends loose their jobs, it Hurts. What have they made a great company to a minnow. Sorry DXC, you s**k

It is so true world wide - some of the brainless management honchos are calling shots of firing people -just to keep their jobs for some time. The company can not sustain these forced evictions, as some of the fired people may be really required to continue business.
